Is this same product as "TIGI Bed Head Men Matte Seperation Work Wax 2.65 oz."?

No, this is a different product. I have tried both and prefer this (molding paste). It is a bit creamier and easier to use and it doesn't weigh the hair down like the separation wax, in my experience.

what does it smell like?

I'd say it had a very light cologne smell to it. It's really faint.

Is this paste good for styling thinning hair?

It's "okay". I switched back to Sticky Rice after trying this out. Then I found Uppercut which I've used for a while. It's really a matter of personal preference. Also, this product is better for short hair and nothing longer.

What kind of hold does this product have?

Weak hold. Barely keeps a faux hawk in place.
