Premium Quality Kitchen Digital Food Scale PLUS a Meat Thermometer from Biostand

I love the scale. Good quality, easy to use & consistently accurate. I want to love the digital thermometer but the directions that came with it were just too vague. Once I figured out how to use the thermometer, it worked well. But if it isn't used in a while, it is difficult to remember how to set it for temperature measurement. There isn't anything on the thermometer to jog the memory so to speak.

I purchased this because the reviews were good for the price. It arrived on time but I found the product very inconvenient to use. There were no adequate instructions. The very limited instructions appeared to have been poorly translated from another language. I could not get a tare function to work. I could not get it to register weights much below about half a pound. It was not worth the trouble to send it back, so I bought a better one locally.

This is a pretty basic easy to use food scale, simple to use without a ton of unneeded features and easy to figure out even without reading the directions.The scale is small and thin, no bulk to it making it easy to store. Be sure to pull the tag to activate the included battery and you are pretty much ready to go. You can set it by touching the U button for grams or oz's/lbs. Turn the device on by touching the ON button. You can toggle between ozs, or lbs/ozs or grams. Just look for the little symbol in the right side of the screen. It is small and the lcd screen is not back lit so it can be a bit of a challenge to read if in poor light.Once it is on and you have waited a sec or so for the 00 to appear, and you have it set for lbs or grams etc... you are ready to weigh.I found it to be accurate and consistent and set it side by side with my old scale and they were spot on with each other weight wise as I weighed different items to test the accuracy.Included with this, the seller has added a probe style food thermometer that has a nice cone shaped plastic cover for storage. It has a lcd display and is easy enough to use, however I could not get out of C and into F and no directions for the thermometer. However since it is not the main purchase but just an extra put in by the seller I did not take away any review stars for it and will fool with it a bit to see if I can get it into F.Pros: scale works well and easy to use, slim, attractive, low profile, battery included, basic scale with no complicationsCons: not really a con but a wish, I wish the lcd read out was back-lit to make it a bit easier to readI purchased this at a reduced rate for my use, evaluation and review

This scale is nice and slim so can be stored just about anywhere any yet the size of the weighing platform is large enough to be practical for just about any food item you want to weigh. For you folks on weight watchers or similar potion control diets, this is going to take care of your portion control needs.Let me state that I received this at a ridiculously good discount (read: almost free) for the purpose of reviewing. I did not attempt to review the thermometer because personally I didn't understand why a thermometer was packaged with a scale. For me the addition of a thermometer is not a selling point for this scale. If I want a thermometer I will purchase one that has features I like. But if you are in the market for a thermometer as well as a scale perhaps this would be a good choice for you.So what about the scale.... I set up the scale next to another countertop scale and weighed things. Both scales matched up so I was pleased to see that. I don't have any more sophisticated ways of testing a scale for accuracy than to test it against another scale. I found weighing to be pretty straightforward without a lot of unnecessary buttons to confuse the main purpose. You can easily and effortlessly switch between units of measure. My only complaint with the scale's functioning is that even after reading the instructions I found the tare function to be a bit difficult to use. My other issue is that the price (right now close to thirty dollars) seems to be quite a bit higher than other scales of its type. True you are getting the thermometer but as I already mentioned, I would rather just have the scale and then purchase a thermometer with the features I want.BOTTOM LINE: A very good scale that seems accurate. Current price of around thirty dollars seems a bit high to me. I didn't test the thermometer.

Love this scale and meat thermometer. Used the thermometer the first time on our Thanksgiving turkey. Easy to use and read!
