Review: Worth the buy very happy with this snorkel!!! - I have gone down the rabbit hole looking for the right snorkel and I truly believe this is the best one at a great price. I have bought cheaper and more expensive. I can breathe freely and feel confident that it will work properly. I go spearfish from shore where waves and currents can beat you up. I bought a cheap one thinking it would be fine I could have use a straw and done better the dry system restricted my breath so I was nervous buying this one didn’t wanna fall for that twice, but I can say this is no cheap snorkel. Very comfortable works so good and will stand the time. Well built. I just purchased a second one for my wife because I was so happy with it.
Review: Shamu Watch OUT - I recently took the plunge and bought the Cressi Adult Diving Dry Snorkel with Splash Guard and Top Valve, affectionately dubbed the Supernova Dry. First off, let me just say that this snorkel has the aesthetic charm of a sleek Italian sports car—if that car were designed to help you breathe underwater while looking like a complete goofball. The first time I tried it out, I felt like a majestic dolphin. I mean, who wouldn’t want to channel their inner aquatic creature? The splash guard does an admirable job of keeping water out, which is great unless you decide to dive into the middle of a wave. Then it’s like your snorkel has just given up on you, saying, “Good luck with that, buddy!” But hey, I came prepared with some impressive snorting sounds when I inevitably inhaled a mouthful of seawater. The top valve is a game-changer; it’s like a bouncer for your snorkel, only letting in the good stuff (read: air). I was ready to take on the underwater world until I realized that my inability to equalize my ears was a bigger issue than I’d anticipated. There I was, floating like a potato with a snorkel, wondering if I should’ve just invested in a bubble wand instead. Comfort-wise, the mouthpiece feels like a cozy little pillow for your teeth, which is crucial if you plan to spend hours trying to identify fish and not just your own reflection. Speaking of which, I did find myself practicing my best “I’m definitely not panicking” face in the mirror before heading out. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work out well. In summary, the Cressi Supernova Dry snorkel is a fantastic way to explore the underwater world—unless you’re me, in which case it’s a hilarious adventure filled with awkward moments, questionable breathing techniques, and the occasional fish that probably questioned my life choices. If you’re looking for a snorkel that works and makes you look like a swimming superstar (or at least a really enthusiastic seal), this is the one for you. Just remember to bring a sense of humor along with your flippers!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the clear snorkel change to yellow over time? Does that happen to all clear silicone basically?**
A: Mine has stayed clear over the past 9 months..

**Q: Can you please direct my search to a finis snorkeling mask?**
A: I got a “Promate Optical Corrective Scuba Dive Snorkeling Mask Prescription Lenses”. Cost starts at $20 USD and I needed the prescription lenses so it cost about $55. This is the only snorkeling mask I’ve purchased so I can’t compare it, but I got it recommended by a friend. There are more expensive masks with full view/incorporated snorkel/other features, but I don’t use this very often, so this was sufficient. If you don’t have it already, or you won’t be on a trip with someone else who has it, you will need an anti fog product for the interior of the mask. If you haven’t purchased the snorkel yet, keep in mind that the ocean is full of dark colors and bright reflections so a black, grey, or clear snorkel won’t be very visible to others when it’s all that’s above the water. Fluorescent colors on the snorkel tip show most easily. I hope that helps.

**Q: can 7 year old use this?**
A: yes. last year when my boys were 10&12 they learned with this snorkel. now for 2 yrs, not a drop of water has gotten in. best snorkel i can recommend. go for a colored top so you can keep closer track of him on surface. very easy clip on system as well. enjoy

**Q: How is the Supernova different from the Alpha Ultra Dry?**
A: The Alpha Ultra Dry can be folded, while the Supernova Dry cannot be folded. The Alpha Ultra Dry's Dry Valve seals the breathing tube when submerged at any angle.
