By Terry Baume de Rose is expensive, and it costs a lot more than money.I came here to write an absolutely glowing review of this product...but discovered something that changes everything.  It's funny because I didn't think I liked this By Terry Baume de Rose at first.  It's incredibly expensive, smells strongly of roses, and feels thick, almost stiff, on my lips.  But after using it for a few weeks, I actually started to like all of that (well, except the price), and by the time I was ready to write a review, I LOVED this stuff!  Unfortunately, I read another review before writing my own, and I learned that By Terry was cruelty-free--WAS--and now is not.  WHAT?!  What company moves backwards like that?!  There is absolutely no need or reason to test your products on animals OR to use ingredients that are tested on animals.  Shame on By Terry for contributing to so much needless suffering!By the way, I didn't just take that reviewer's word for it;  I also checked the By Terry website myself and did some other research.  They now sell their products in China where animal testing is mandatory.  I am so disappointed and disgusted, partly with myself for not noticing that when I ordered this product.Look, I write honest reviews, so here's the truth:  This is an awesome lip balm.  It's actually BEYOND balm, in my opinion.  It feels fantastic, and I have loved using it for the last three weeks, and that's why I have to give it a couple of stars.  But I can't and won't recommend a product made by a company who is more concerned with profit than pain.  "Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction."  ~Charles R.
