Clearpoint Mechanical Pencils, 0.7mm, HB 2, Black Barrels, 4 Count

These are my new favorite pencils. They are comfortable to hold, the lead is sturdy, and the eraser actually erases cleanly.

Great pencil, I've used these before and it was great like usual. For me, the grip is good, but because there isn't much rubber where the grip is, I would recommend you buy a rubber grip if the bone where the pencil rests hurts easily for you. I think it writes smoothly, once you run out of lead, I recommend getting good quality refills that are smooth and pigmented, that way you'll keep liking the pencil. I like this pencil and it is my number 1 preference when it comes to American stationery. I like the style and feel of it. If you want a good pencil but with a different aesthetic than this one, or want it to be more versatile, I recommend looking at Japanese stationery. They have a wider selection of things with different looks, aesthetics, and functionality.

Edit: It's now mid 2024 & I've held tight to these pencils. Still adore them. Lemme tell you a story of a little lonely pencil I encountered in 2008 or so. She was such a good pencil. A paper mate clearpoint mechanical pencil in pink. She was reliable. She was faithful. Never have I such a relationship quite as solid as we had. She was always there for me, perfectly writing all of my deepest thoughts, assisting me in jotting down notes for school and grocery lists alike. We were together for 10 years. 10 glorious years and it was like the very beginning every day. I held to her unlike anything else before. Then one day she left me. No warning, no note, nothing. She was just gone. Though we made many cross country trips together in each others hands, she had decided a move 3 blocks down the road was just too much for her. It broke me. I tried to get over her with cheap replacements but holding them was nothing compared to holding her. The way she would occasionally squeak while putting lead to paper transformed from irritation to angelic music over the years. The way she always had my back when I made a mistake. She was perfect and no cheap imitation pencil could hold a flame to her, no matter how many others I tried replace her with. It took years to convince myself to open up to the idea of a replica of her and to love again, this time with a group scenario. Now, if one leaves me I’ll have others to replace the hole in my heart. It’s not quite the same, but we’re all happy together. I still think of Pinkie often, but sometimes we just have to be thankful for the memories and move on.
