Jetzt habe ich einen Versuch gestartet: bei einem großen Gitarrenladen eine komplette Sammlung bestellt, sogar ein Blue-Chip-Plektrum für 50 Euro (hat sich nicht gelohnt !). Überzeugt hat mich Fred Kelly Picks P4-L-12 Poly Flat Light. Hat genau die richtige Stärke, Konsistenz und Grip. Ergibt diesen leicht klackenden Sound (frühe Bob Dylan-Platten), liegt superfest zwischen den Fingern. Ich hab mir hier noch einen Zwölferpack bestellt.

It's hard to review a pick because its function seems so basic, but as most guitarists will tell you, picks are vital and have to be "just right" for you. The Fred Kelly P4-L is not really as light as most light picks; it's a bit heavier than a light and a bit lighter than a medium. For me, that turned out to be "just right." Much of the music our band plays requires my acoustic guitar to cut-through the piano and bass with a "tight treble" and that can only be achieved with a heavy individual-string strum (fast, but hit each necessary note). Yet, later in the set I need to switch to my Strat, which calls for a much lighter hand. The P4-L is equally capable at both styles of playing and the diamond-pattern on the part you grip really helps to not contribute to the "pick graveyard" on the stage floor. I've already ordered more as when I give them to friends they don't come back with the usual "not for my style of playing." The best compliment I can think of is when I look over at them while we're playing and catch a glimpse of blue-pick flashing in the player's hand. Lastly, this pick has a good "attack" and yet doesn't generate a loud click when it strikes the strings. It's made of polycarbonate, yet is more bendable and less prone to fracture.
