These bamboo shelves exactly fit a space to small for a night table and have been working perfectly as an alternative. Their color blends with the birch wood of the headboard, too. In place of drawers, I use a couple of small baskets. It also holds my CPAP machine and, on the top shelf, a small lamp and a mug, without looking cluttered. As these shelves were designed for towels, I don't put a lot of weight on any shelf.

UPDATE: Kinlife reached out and helped resolve the issue I had with chipped pieces. They were very responsive and I was impressed by their customer service. For that reason, I am changing my rating from a 3 star to a 5 star. Thanks, Kinlife!!The item was easy to assemble and works as expected, however, nearly every piece had some kind of break, chip, or scuff. For an almost $80 piece, I expected better quality.
