Envy: The Damning, Book 2

Envy focused on the Mermaids kingdom but there was a lot of development in the other relationships as well. Z had to complete a task for the Mermaid King (task 1/7 for the kings) as well as battling against creatures thought to be extinct because someone else is after her.Love how despite 7 mates they’re all moving at a different pace. Some are rekindling, some more on fast forward, and others because of stubbornness or other issues are moving much slower. It’s giving me all the feels everywhere. Also loving the humor despite the loving and fighting moments. Z cracks me up as well as poor Killian the virgin incubus 😂. His internal monologues are legit adorably hilarious.Thankfully the next books out because I need more ASAP!

Well this installment was a little more attention grabbing for me than the first one was. I enjoyed that we got to explore more of the world and how we keep delving into the secrets that surround these characters. I also like reading about the development of the relationships between Z and her mates, all the guys are so cute in regards to their feelings toward A and I know that when they are all finally together 100% it's going to be amazing. I have so many questions about what's going on which add to the ones that I had from the first book, and I also think I understand some of the hidden secrets that are happening and I can't wait for those ones to come out.

If you're looking for a steamy, have your panties dripping, kind of read look no further. Z and her mates do not disappoint in the steamy scenes. I had to put the book down and break out B.O.B.In this continued story we are back in the world of nightmares. Where our kick ass assassin Z has been thrown another curve ball. Honestly can the girl catch a break? She has now been given tasks put together by the evil, deranged nightmare kings. If that isn't bad enough she's still trying to get a handle on being mated to the 7 princes she was supposed to kill. On top of that beings thought to be extinct are now popping up trying to kill her. Z muddles through her emotional battles while kicking ass and figuring out the nightmare kings end game.Pros: Story line is captivating and progressed naturally. Sex scenes are detailed and believable. Character development stays true.Cons: Fight scenes seem a little rushed. Side characters seem forced in some instances. Also a bit confused why we didn't see Z having a conversation with HH. Seemed like a prime missed opportunity for character development.

I think this was a great addition to the series! I’ve been enjoying watching Z and her men get to know each other and navigate their rocky relationship. I feel like we saw some character development in Z- she’s not just a badass assassin, but a young girl who’s been stuck in nasty situations her entire life.In this book, we really get to know Bash and his messed up family. Seriously, they take the term “dysfunctional family” way too seriously. I’m excited to discover the rest of the challenges and how Z deals with the kings. From what we’ve seen already, she’ll have her work cut out for her.All in all, I’m anxiously looking forward to the next book! This has quickly become one of my favorite series and I have to know what happens after that ending!!

As the winner of The Damning, Z was the new assassin for the kings. Of course, its never that simple. They want to make her prove herself capable. She seals the bond with some of her mates, but not all. The task she is sent on causes her to face a Kraken. Somehow, she, Dair and Bash come out victorious. They return to the capital and the Mermaid King. Dair knows what is going to happen. Z does not. I know you can guess if you've read book one. It makes me want to scream. Also, what has happened to the tragedy that is Jax?

Yeah he story continues to be exciting and interesting however I really struggle when characters in the book are struggling and being tortured and there doesn’t seem to be an end in site. Daire s torture from his dad, jax’s mental health, devlins secrets. All three are problems that don’t seem to have solutions anytime soon so it just leaves the books feeling dark and sad with no happyness to come. I know some like that and I do as well but not constantly. I need good mixed in.

I read many, many books every month. I use these stories to escape to enchanted lands with mysterious, ethereal men. That being said, I tend to be picky when it comes to character development and creativity. Katie does an amazing job of crafting characters that are sincere, beautiful and tragic. Thank you for this series and your fresh approach to some of my favorite supernatural beings. Z is one of the only characters that reminds me of myself, just the right balance of tough and soft, the latter being hard for her to express. She’s also hilarious, and completely random, again traits that I am blisteringly aware exist within me. I recommend these books to everyone, especially if you are looking for something old that becomes new again through Katie’s creative weaving of new life into old loves, like one very sexy merman!Christy Nordin

Z made it through the culling only to find she now has to complete a task for each kingdom. With the evil twisted kings and the fact she is sworn to be their assassin things have gotten bad. Not only has the fact she is their mate placed them in danger, the mysterious person is still attempting to abduct her. This is a page turning series, and leaves you wanting more, ASAP.

Book 2 of the damming series another amazing work of Art from Katie. Wasn’t able to put this one down either from start to finish. There is just so much involved in the series that it is hard to put down. Especially with Z and her guys. Not going into the plot or anything, but if you love supernaturals with multiple mates this is definitely the series for you. Read book 1 and 2 multiple times can’t wait to get stuck into book 3. Would love to say thanks to Katie for another amazing Book especially with all the time and effort that goes into them ❤️ Xx

Oh how I hate the Mermaid King let me count the ways.Brilliant second book, my heart broke for Dair and what he suffered, and I don’t think it’s possible to love a character more than Z, that girl just kicks butts.Looking forward to the next book and learning more about her princes.

Amazing book series! I loved that this book focused on Dair, who is probably my favourite of Z’s mates. I’m looking forward to the next book which I know will be just as awesome!

Z seemed ready to fight the bond between her and her mates but it was a lost cause, she caved in and I want to say YEEEES because her guys are just so adorable (except Bash but I still like him). They were quick to drop the L word, they barely know each other (as Bash pointed once). I wish they had waited a little bit longer.Killian remains my favorite, I love him so much! Jax deserves the best, I want him to get better and for Z to find him asap!Ryland is so sweet, same as Lupe and Dair (I hate his disgusting "father").Bash is still an idiot but like a lovable idiot when you read his POV, and I believe Devlin has one heavy secret... I literally gasped at the end of chapter 27.Tavvy dropped us a bomb about the princes... Then he got what he deserved honestly.Cannot wait to read Gluttony!!
