Review: Works on my Raspberry PI - Works great, two tuners so you can record and play different channels. As other tuner commentators have noted, you need an antenna, but I’m nearly 20 miles away and I just have a cheap flat antenna - try a cheap one before you think you need a big roof or attic antenna. The one included also worked, but it was a little lacking. Also, when I used the little amplifier that can with the antenna, it overloaded the tuner and I had to unplug and reboot. You need plenty of storage space to record, I got a 500mb ssd and it seems more than plenty for my needs using Plex. Review: Wonderful Accessory For Cordcutters with drawbacks - Seems to work best most in powerful and memory loaded computers. At first looked easy enough, the install download from Hauppauge for win 10 didn't work. None of the computers recognized the 1657 as an USB device, even in Device Manager. Toying around and getting nowhere, I noticed another page on the website side small file extra driver for win10 (wintv-solo_dual_quadhd). In desparation installed it. That did the trick. It recieves channels just as well as my existing TV, but now I have a dual channel DVR. Intuitive user interface and smart TV Guide. I can pause anytime and resume live channels. Well worth the money. 15 jan 2023 Update: Still operating well, the HD is the standard compressed version not as good as over the air uncompressed HD. The recorder surprisingly can record programs through name recognition. Records daily/weekly series of a show even if they move the schedule around. ## Features - Includes two, built-in ATSC/QAM TV tuners - record on one channel while watching on another - TV tuner for your Nvidia Shield or Windows PC - Use the included WinTV v10 application for Windows and have picture-in-picture or two complete TV windows open simultaneously - Watch, pause and record two channels of free over-the-air ATSC HD TV and clear QAM digital cable TV. Besides, downloading an app, entering the code is a taxing and an unwanted complication, which I wasn't warned about – and unprepared to cope with. ## Frequently Bought Together - Hauppauge 1657 WinTV-dualHD Cordcutter Dual USB 2.0 TV Tuner for Nvidia Shield and Windows PC - Philips LTE Filter for TV Antenna, Filters 4G 5G LTE Signal to Reduce Interference and Pixilation for Clear Digital HD TV Reception, Frequency Range 5-608 MHz, Indoor Outdoor Installation, SDW1520/27 - HIDB TV Antenna for Smart TV Indoor, Strong Magnetic Base Indoor TV Antenna for Easy Installation, Long Range Reception HD Antennas for TV Indoor 4k 1080P Channels-10ft Long Cables (Black) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/301245778-1657-wintv-dualhd-cordcutter-dual-usb-2-0-tv-tuner](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/301245778-1657-wintv-dualhd-cordcutter-dual-usb-2-0-tv-tuner) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
