I keep this book on my nightstand
It's filled with snippets of beautiful language. I bought it over a year ago, and realized recently that this little book has become a treasured friend. The poems were all published separately in other places, but when they're all together like this, I can imagine the poet's life.

Today I am thankful for this book of poems. I first read it cover to cover several months ago, enjoying the variety of poems and styles that still have a lot of delicious repetition of ideas and topics. I started reading it again a few days ago and couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the poems even more the second time around, which is the mark of excellent poetry: it gets better and better and the more times you read it. The title itself gives some clue of what you're in for, the beauty of contradiction, of being more than one thing at a time, of being a strong, fragile person in this turbulent world.I'll hope the publisher and author won't mind if I put one of the shorter gems into this review:In WarsawA forest of gravesin a far corner of the city, far from the *Assembly Place.*Snails, gray, dun, spotted, rest on inscriptions, slidein their grooves. Spiders onthe slanted stone, the pathto the gate. Almost touchinggrass, branches bend down.In the air, the unburied.--Natania Rosenfeld
