I used a cheap gel base and my polish would peel off within a day or two. Then I remembered that when I used to go to a nail salon, they used this brand base and top coats. So I purchased them- problem solved! My at-home gel manicures now last a full two weeks.

This base coat was awful; I love LeChat products so I was extremely disappointed. Maybe I was shipped a counterfeit or old bottle, but it was thick and gloopy and impossible to apply smoothly without applying a super thick layer. The brush was wide and short, much different from other LeChat gel bottles I have - like the actual colors and top coat -- I think it would have worked well if the base coat weren't so impossibly thick and gloopy. Thankfully, since the color and topcoat were great and self leveling, they made up for the uneven streaky base coat. The only way I could get the base coat remotely smooth was to apply a very thick layer, which is not ideal, and certainly doesn't match the "ultra thin" name. But even with a thin streaky layer, I got a good end result with LeChat color and top coat over it.

Love their polish lasts so long. Great colors less time wasted on nails since they look good with these polishes.
