Allows use of sockets with drill.
Allows you to turn 1/2” sq. dr. Sockets with a 1/2” drill motor. The adapter’s detent pin will lock sockets on, that have a through hole.

Not particularly good design
Not particularly practical. The little safety pin is not rounded and has to be pushed in with a tiny screwdriver to get anything off the adapter. It's also too long to effectively tranfer the impact drills power.

Have been using for around 12 months now & noticed little to No wear & tear on snap ring end where socket mounts.
