The end of the choke cable, the plunger does not have a needle on it like the OEM one does. Just a robber looking tip
Everything arrive today. Everything looks OK but on the end of the choke cable the plunger as no needle on the end of it like the OEM carburetor does. I hope your days carburetors going to work after I hook everything up and that that is not a defective thing going on there and that’s actually how it is designed. We’ll see what happens. I will keep posted. Finished installing. Another issue. The gas line inlet is much smaller than the oem one. Gonna need to get a adapter to bring 2 different size fuel lines together. It’s a big size difference. After I get this resolved I’ll see if it works. Finished the job and my timberwolf started right up easily and stayed running w/o stalling like before. Now my quad runs quieter and smoother. Not sure how choke is gonna perform yet. Only issue I had also was my throttle and choke cable feels loose. Had to tighten throttle cable a lot at maximum adjustment. Update... after quad sat for 2 weeks it wouldn’t start. Had a local atv repair place look at it. They got it running again and said the floaters were way out of adjustment and had to be adjusted. Hopefully it’s fine now. Keep in mind this carb does need some major adjustments

Bought two, only one worked without modification
I have two identical 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf YFB250 ATVs. I purchased two of these carbs. Once I had time, I replaced the carb, plug, air filter, and changed the oil on both ATVs. One of them immediately started running great. Starts up instantly and runs great!! The other one wouldn't start. We found that one of the carbs would not allow any fuel into the bowl by using a tube to try to blow air into the fuel line connection on the carb. Ultimately, we had to take it apart and adjust the float (several times) so that it would let fuel in but not so much fuel that it started coming out the overflow. Then we were able to get it started, but it never did start quite as easily or run as smoothly as the other ATV. To make matters worse, now that it's cold it is really hard to get it started. Yes, we have the choke hooked up correctly...we hooked the carbs up at the same time, and actually had to remove and reinstall this one several times. So I have one ATV that starts immediately and runs great and one that is very hard (and now impossible) to start. There must be something wrong with the carb we received that required us to make float adjustments. I tried contacting the seller twice because I thought that one carb just wasn't right and I wanted it replaced, but I never received a response. So, take your chances and make sure that you have some idea about how to take the carb apart and adjust the float if you want to buy one of these.

Worth the money
Worked like a champ right out of box . If you have rebuilt your stock carb and still not running right don't be afraid to pick one of these up .it brought my timberwolf out of retirement . It's a little different from your stock one but it works. Fuel inlet is smaller than stock but just trim the fuel line back a bit and it should fit right on.mine did

Does the job
While it is not an exact replacement, it works well. As some stated previously, the fuel line is smaller than the original. I was able to stretch the line on, and it works, but will look for a better solution. A much preferred alternative to having a mechanic rebuild the original.

Not quite as advertised
I bought this carburetor as a direct replacement for the worn out Mikuni on my Yamaha Timberwolf. I had to borrow the needle out of the Mikuni in order for it to get enough fuel. Then when driving it won't rev as high as it used to, like it runs out of air at the top end. After some investigation and comparison, I found the venturi diameter was much smaller than the stock carb and the slide piston was smaller in diameter. It functions and got my ATV running again, hence it gets 2 stars. However the performance is poor and I am disappointed in the product as it isn't quite as advertised. Also the fuel bowl drain screw leaked, I had to put some teflon tape on it to fix that issue.

Awesome after sales support!
I seldom write reviews, but this seller definately deserves a shout out for their after sales support. When I received my part it had some external damage that may or may not have effected its function. No questions asked they expedited a replacement without needing the damaged one back, FedEx, Saturday delivery, installed the carb that day, 4 wheeler running like new again.Incredible value, and after sales. Thanks!

After swapping out for this carburetor and cleaning up some of the original components like the throttle cable my Yamaha Timberwolf fired right on ...
This carburetor solved all of my problems for my ATV. I couldn't keep my ATV running nor could I get a smooth throttle response. After swapping out for this carburetor and cleaning up some of the original components like the throttle cable my Yamaha Timberwolf fired right on the first crank. I have since been starting it in the middle of the winter and can get it to cold start with minimal effort. This is definitely a quality component from a quality company.

It is jumk
It was a few months before a got to installing this carb. As soon as I turned on the gas after installation it leaked through the drain valve. It had obviously not been tested before sending. I do not recommend this product.
