Hot Asset (21 Wall Street Book 1)

I got this book because it was both part of KU and Audible catalogue plus, but I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Lauren Payne wrote a grumpy captivating story and I really enjoyed it. Even, if we have seen many elements of it before, she put together a good romance that was slow burn but had some steamy parts near the end. I would highly recommend hybrid reading as the narration is putstanding.

Ian Bradley is an arrogant, sexy, wall street mongrel, Lara McKenzie follows the rules, and is career focused! Lara was selected to conduct an investigation on Ian for inside trading. These two characters, as you can imagine, did NOT get on well! They fought and challenged each other! Ian trying to prove his innocent and Lara trying to prove he is guilty. I absolutely loved Ian's friends, Matt, Kennedy, Sandra and Kate!!! There are smart, witty and their humour had me laughing! I loved their loyalty to Ian, also challenging him to see what he couldn't.I respect Lara, she takes her job seriously and wont be taken as a fool. She works hard and expects results. She is loyal, hard working but has morals when decisions get tough.I recommend this book and I will definitely be reading the next books within this series.

This is the first book I have read by this authorship it won't be the last. The plot was excellent and the characters came from an unexpected direction. I'm moving on to Matt's story now.

Best book I’ve read in a while!! I absolutely love all the characters, their banter, sass and wit. It was so nice to have a female lead be good and not insufferable. Characters that actually communicated!!!

Good book. Good characters and development. A little short in parts perhaps. Look forward to reading the later books in series

Enjoyable read and both main characters were solid and endearing. Completely opposite in so many ways yet well suited to each other. Supporting team players were interesting too and can’t wait to read their stories. Recommend

Hot Asset is the first book in Lauren Layne’s 21 Wall Street series. The story follows Wall Street suit Ian who finds himself the subject of an SEC investigation led by our other main character Lara.This is a great, angsty enemies to lovers story. It has added layers with Lara’s task and ambition and the rules of what the characters can and cannot do while Ian is under investigation. It was very easy to listen to and I imagine it would be very easy to read.Like so many books I’ve listened to recently this and the next two in the series are included in the audible plus catalogue. The narrators were great and as always one of our favourites - Zachary Webber - never disappoints! This one is also free on Kindle unlimited so head on over and download it!

This was a charming palette cleanser about two normal people with no awful past or damaged in anyway.It's about a stockbroker who is investigated for insider trading and centres around a group of friends.It can be read as a standalone and the narration was excellent.It's free on Audible Plus.
