Really nice bike stand
This stand is truly freestanding - it does not need to be or should be attached to anything. Assembly is reasonably straight forward but I do recommend you screw in the bolts in the lower extension into the bracket before you attach the extension arm to clear out the threads. One thing to note is when you get the clamp arms secured give the hex screw on the clamp a little extra tightening (don't go Conan on it , just a little turn will do).The stand is extremely sturdy. I have a Specialized Allez Elite on the top mount and it does not slip at all. The support arms can be rotated to accommodate different top tube angles so the bikes hang level. You will need to order a additional handle bar arm as the stand comes with only one (which is really odd as this is a two bike stand!).The stand has a small footprint considering. I can poke this guy into the corner of my living room easily. My only gripe is the box the stand ships in- it's really weak and flimsy. Toppeak really needs to use tougher cardboard as my box was tore up when it arrived. Thankfully, the stand was not damaged at all but it was falling out of the top of the box. I consider myself very lucky.

Army Strong!
Just put the rack together. Thought it was a bit pricey when I ordered it, but it is very well made and worth every penny. 2 road bikes now hanging in my apartment and it's solid and stable. Highly recommend!

A Great Storage and Work Stand For Mountain Bikes
I have done my research ahead of purchasing the Topeak Two Up Bike Stand. Is this items expensive? Yes but you get what you paid for! This item has quality materials and workmanship written all over it; you can see and feel that German engineers took their time to design this stand. It is sturdy, elegant and functional. It fits my Gary Fisher 29er HiFi without problems and keeps it in place while I run basic maintenance on it. It is easy to set up and mount your favorite Mountain Bike on it. It would have been great if Topeak included a second handle bar stabilizer but somehow a "bean counter" at Topeak decided that saving a few dimes for them would make the difference at the end of the year bonuses!

Awesome stand for high ceilings
This is the second Topeak bike stand that I own (first is the dual touch I use for road bikes). From my point of view, it is perfect. Topeak build, material and workmanship is spot on. At first I doubted the three point base before hanging our mountain bikes, but as long as the bottom mount is lined up with the lower leg, you won't need to worry about it tipping. The adjustable arms allow me to hang my Specialized FSR comp (abnormal tob tube) securely. Even with my bike removed and my girlfriends bike on the top arm, the stand remains solid. I highly recommend this stand over any lower priced alternative. Pay a premium for a well designed stand that won't drop your bikes on the ground.Bonus for the lower carrier hanging farther away from the vertical tub for basic chain maintenance.

Excellent stand overall
I was looking for a bike stand for a full-suspension mountain bike (Trek Fuel 17.5" frame) and a road bike (BMC StreetRacer 51 cm). I don't have a lot of space in my apartment so was looking for something with a smallish footprint and sturdy. I also was hoping it could double as a maintenance stand (lack of space!).The Two Up definitely holds two bikes, but depending on the orientation of the bikes, the stand will want to lean to one side on carpet. If you turn one bike so that it's not directly above the other bike, this will help balance without taking up too much more space than the normal footprint of stand + bike would take up.Height adjustment is simple -- simply set the carriers (swivel arms) where you want them and tighten the screws. The handles for tightening down each carrier are large and chunky for a good grip.Angle adjustment is a little more tricky as there are no bearings -- thus depending on the weight of the bike and the load on each hook, it may be difficult to rotate the carrier with the bike resting on it. Similarly, there is no bearing in the handlebar stabilizer, so rotating it away from the handlebar tightens it. For me, it was a lot (45 min) of trial and error to get the weight balance and location of the bikes correct. It wasn't a difficult process, mind you; I just wanted to make sure neither bike was in the way of the other and that the stand wasn't too unbalanced. The handlebar stabilizer is not particularly sturdy -- it's held in place only with a thumb screw and isn't intended to take much load.Construction seems quite robust. Hooks, swivel arm, and the bracket that locks the swivel arm in place are all solid. However, this is not meant to be a dedicated maintenance stand: the bike is only support by hooks (not by a clamp), so any heavy maintenance is still best left to a dedicated maintenance stand.Note that for certain bike geometries (especially frames with bends in them) it may be difficult to center the bike about the vertical post. While there isn't much chance of actually tipping, the angle adjustment does take some time to get right to match the frame. Set too steep and there isn't much room for another bike on top; set the bike parallel and it can be difficult to get the bike on / off the hooks. On my Trek Fuel, for instance, the rear shock prevents me from hanging the bike as far up its frame as I'd like.Setup is very quick: the instruction manual has plenty of pictures, but even without them it's fairly obvious what goes where. It took me about 15 minutes to put together. All bolts share the same size Allen wrench (5 mm) so it's easy to get things together. The box this stand comes in is its original Topeak box -- Amazon does not repackage or put inside another box -- which is not very strong cardboard. My contents arrived intact but the box was certainly in pretty bad shape.Overall, the stand met my expectations for being able to support two bikes. For me, the lack of bearings for angle adjustment (and related minor inconvenience of adjusting swivel unit angle) and price prevent this from earning 5 stars.

Solid
Works great. Box was damaged and one of the handle bar holder things was missing but the bottom bike doesnt seem to mind. Roughly 70lb of bike on the stand and its stable as can be.

Perfect for small spaces!
It just fits in beautifully along a wall in our small 1 bedroom apartment. I chose this over the single-column Topeak stand that attaches to the ceiling mainly for stability. It's a headache to have the single stick around hoping it does not fall! This one is perfect, with the tripod base. The product looks beautiful and has an excellent finish. Setting it up is very simple. Moreover I can work on the bikes while they hang from this tripod, inside the apartment. Otherwise, I would have had to lay the bikes down on the ground. And for things like wheel alignment I would have had to go outside to do the work.

Superb
Very sturdy product. I love it. I can hang my two lightweight bikes vertically in one hanger. Save a lot of space. If you have a heavy bike, please don’t copy what I did unless you have either titanium or carbon fibre bike.

Geht besser

Light, sturdy, easy to assemble, secure and packs down small.
Very sturdy bike stand. Suits perfect for an apartment. The tripod feet do protrude out a fair bit and therefore did not suit for a corridor space. Plan to set one of the road bikes behind and have the mountain bike on the bottom. (Need to but another hook section) Very easy to assemble (only need a 5 Allen key) and packs down to a good size (same as race bike stand). can be transported easily. Would certainly recommend. Bought ‘used’ but seemed brand new just the box looked beat up. Delighted.
