All across Europe, while a last-ditch battle is fought in the mud of the trenches, colorful airplanes fly in the skies, piloted by men of exceptional skill and valor. Take the commands of one of these early flying machines, and gallantly fight your opponents as a true “knight of the air”.Wings of Glory™ is a game system that allows players to recreate aerial combat during World War I and II, using cards and miniatures to represent the airplanes and their maneuvers. In Wings of Glory players will control one or more airplanes, taking to the skies to engage their opponents in aerial duels, or trying to accomplish a specific mission, such as recon, escort, or bombing.WW1 Wings of Glory Duel Pack is the ideal starting point to play Wings of Glory. It includes everything you need to start playing: a rulebook with Basic and Standard rules, maneuver and damage cards, 40 counters, two measuring rulers, two airplane consoles and two airplanes, with special gaming bases, in 1/144 scale, fully assembled and painted. The pack also features Target, Trench and Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun cards, to play a number of different scenarios. Two different versions of the Duel Pack are available. Each version contains two different airplane models. Review: It's particularly good with a soundtrack playing - I finally got around to playing this with my son, last week. It's instantly addictive, and we've already spent hours playing it on the bed mattress (which is the only big flat surface available in our apartment, bar the floor). It's particularly good with a soundtrack playing. I made one from movie clips, and play it on a loop: Neeeeeaaaoooooowww!!! Rat-a-tat-a-tat-a-tat!!! We don't wear flying goggles and helmet when playing - but that's only because we don't have any. The packaging was a bit flimsy - and the box arrived with the contents falling out. Miraculously, nothing was missing. Great game. Review: Fast and Perfect - Received much faster than expected and in perfect condition ## Features - Age range: 8 and up / Number of players: 2 to 4 / Play time: 45+ minutes - Manufacturer: Ares Games ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00BCNF4K0 | | Additional Features | Portable | | Age Range Description | Kid | | Best Sellers Rank | #97,201 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) #2,366 in Board Games (Toys & Games) | | Brand Name | Ares Games | | Color | Brown | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 44 Reviews | | Educational Objective | Numeracy & Literacy | | Global Trade Identification Number | 08054181510478 | | Included Components | Cards | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Item Dimensions | 10.24 x 5.91 x 2.36 inches | | Item Part Number | AGSWGF001A | | Item Weight | 9.6 ounces | | Manufacturer | Wings of Glory Game Mat | | Manufacturer Part Number | AREWGF001A | | Manufacturer recommended age | 8 years and up | | Material Type | Cardstock | | Model Name | Fokker Dr.I Vs. Or do i still need to buy other things like a plane, mat, or something else?** A: The new release is just the rules. There are two plane sets that will get you started. The mat are optional and not required. Stop by wingsof war.org a web site for players of the both the WW1 and WW2 version. Members from around the world who can answer any question you may have! WW2 is my main focus i dabble in WW1. Rich **Q: What is in the box** A: IIRC, there's 4 aircraft with their stands, 4 decks of maneuver cards, 4 aircraft displays, 2 range rulers, rules, and a sheet of counters. The game doesn't use dice. **Q: The age minimum here is 13. on bgg it's shown as 8+. what do you all think?** A: The rules are simple enough for an 8 year old to understand. However, the game requires a lot of planing ahead your moves and keeping track of a bunch of stuff at once. Sometimes, the younger ages struggle with this aspect of the game. It would depend on the individual kids, if they will handle it well. There is also some ability to tweek the rules to make it more accessible. **Q: How thick/thin are the mats** A: Bout as thick as a mouse pad. They are excellent quality. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's particularly good with a soundtrack playing *by G***N on June 13, 2017* I finally got around to playing this with my son, last week. Great game. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast and Perfect *by E***Y on June 26, 2023* Received much faster than expected and in perfect condition ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cheap way to get started with Wings of Glory *by M***Y on May 23, 2013* This all you need to get started playing Wings of Glory. Pretty inexpensive way to get a high quality game with lots of replay value. This game also has the possibility -- both good and bad -- for tons of expansion. If you get hooked learning about World War I and playing this game like I did you may end up with over 100 planes. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/30061893-ares-games-wings-of-glory-duel-pack-fokker-dr-i](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/30061893-ares-games-wings-of-glory-duel-pack-fokker-dr-i) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
