The only concern would be to dissolve extract slowly into your wort so it does not clog the pump. **Q: How long does it take to have beer done?** A: That depends on how long you want to mash and boil. I'd say that you could easily do a 60 minute mash, mash out, 60 minute boil and be done in less than 5 hours. Personally, I do a 90 minute mash with a 90 minute boil in about 6 hours but I'm usually not in a hurry. I'm getting about 90% efficiency after running the grains through the mill at the HB store twice. With that logic, you could probably run your normal recipe (around 70% efficiency with a cooler) and do a 30 minute mash with 60 minute boil; that'd take about 4 hours. Just remember, extending your boil will remove DMS from your finished beer and extending your mash will improve efficiency. I've been doing step mashes with mine and it works great. Google "BYO Mash Profiles". Also, you'll need a hot liquor tank of some sort to sparge.
