Sweet and nicely written.
This is a lovely follow-up book from the previous one with the same characters in it as well as new ones but focusing on a different main character.I have enjoyed the details, giving the reader a very clear view of the atmosphere and how there characters are feeling.Definitely feel good read with a fun, light way about it.Looking forward to the next one already!

Pleasant easy read
I think I was first attracted to this book because of the location and setting, having spent a couple of fabulous holidays in Hope Cove myself. I really enjoyed book one and quite apart from the wonderfully vivid description by the author of this beautiful part of Devon it was easy for me to picture the cottage, cliff and beach as a perfect romantic setting. I will probably read book 3 now I have a real feel for the characters as well as the setting.

Loved the storyline of Oxford, as I am from Oxfordshire.
The stories are based around Oxford. I lived there for many, many years. The stories of Alice’s shop where Lewis Carroll wrote the story of Alice in Wonderland. Alice’s shop is a real place, it’s an amazing and certainly very interesting. Folly bridge where Escape to the boathouse is based , the Thames river. Where they do punting in the summer. the Ashmoleum museum, The Oxford Orison where Emily works, or worked. The mention of author JRTolkein, who is buried at Wolvercote cemetery. No mention of The Trout public house, which is extremely busy restaurant, for visitors and of course the Oxford students.

Delightful sequel
The second in the Hope Cove series, this follows the exploits of Josie, Lizzie’s sister, and her new life in the countryside. There are various dilemmas for Josie to face, choosing a possible acting career in London or working at the kennels; choosing between Jack and Sam. Am enjoyable light read

Josie loves Jack or does she?
Josie needs a job, so her sister Lizzie helps arrange a job at the local kennels. What Josie knows about dogs and the countryside could be written on the back of a stamp! Then she meets her brother-in-law Mac's bear friend Sam and suddenly she doesn't know what she wants any more.Just when she thinks she has worked it out, she is offered the acting job she has always wanted.Could life get any more complicated?Believable characters and unputdownable all one one book!

A great follow-up to book 1
It was just as much fun reading this one as the first book in the series! I got through it in record time. On to book 3!

An escape indeed!
I am giving this book a five-star review for several reasons. I love that each book in the series continues the stories of the characters in the other books; for example, Lizzie and Max, who star in the first book, are prominent in the second as well. That brings me to my second reason: I really care about the characters. Each is a complete person, flawed but good-hearted, who makes real mistakes on the way to his or her HEA. My third reason is atmosphere. Ms. Ellis expertly describes idyllic places , so each book truly is an escape. I recommend reading the books in the series in order, as they evidently, and happily, comprise one lovely story.

Review
Josie has lost her job, again, and broken up with her boyfriend, also again. She decided to try working at a boarding kennel, even though she knows nothing about dogs. She gets along great with the owner Annette and the dogs. And Sam, the guy next door. Then she's offered her acting job back, and after a lot of soul searching realized she has to give it a try. Then Sam breaks up with her, not willing to try a long-distance relationship. But she has changed, and she doesn't want that life anymore, so goes back to the country. After all her different jobs, she has finally found what she wants. I liked this book, and all the characters interacted well together. Adding this series to my list.
