Good Rack for Mongoose Malus Fat Bike
I bought this for my Mongoose Malus and after a slight modification it fits perfectly. The Malus has nowhere to bolt the rack to so I enlarged the hole in the brackets to 3/8" and bolted it to the hub. I used a brass strap wrapped around the seat post to secure the front supports with a 1/4-20 nut and bolt. The rack seems very sturdy but time will tell how it holds up.

Sturdy, light and super easy to install.
I wanted a rack to fit a mid-fat bike with a tire size (in my case 27.5x3" tires) with a 148mm boost rear hub (which is probably ~175mm wide for the rack mounts). This rack fit absolutely perfectly onto my Jones Plus SWB bicycle. I made one easy mod, which is not necessary: I drilled wider holes into the top of the rack for the seat-stay mounts to be wider. Otherwise this rack is perfectly sized and everything lined up exact. Nothing needed to be bent or pushed to fit. I have loaded up the rack with a basket and some groceries and its very stable. No swaying, movement or noises. The rack feels like an original part of the bike.*Side note - the pics include a Wald basket attached with 2 Nite-Ize 18" twist ties. These are not included with the rack. I also paid for this rack and was not compensated for this review.

Love this rack
Got this rear rack for my Sondors E Fat bike. Was pretty sure I could get it to fit. And I did, with a little finagling, The trick is to take off the little curved steel adapters at the bottom. switch them each to the other side, and turn them upside down and re-attach them to the inside of the rack stays. Now the rack will clear everything but the disc break. To make that happen, I pulled the stays open a little and added a spacer between the bike frame and the rack mount arm on the disc break side, a short metal tube about 3/16" long, A nut from a larger size screw or something else would work, had to bend the steel curved part a little too. I also used nylon lock nuts and washers to make sure nothing comes loose. This gave just enough clearance to work. I have been riding it with no problems and with several heavy loads for months. The metal rack mounting arms that attach under the seat have to be fully extended when attached. Love the rack, I put a folding metal basket on one side and carry several bungees. I looks great and works great.

Motobecane Boris the Brut
Fits on my new Motobecane Boris the Brut 21 inch frame. Tires are 26 x 4.7 inch wide. I had to shorten the extension arms with a hacksaw, but that was no big deal. I needed to stretch the rack open a bit wider to fit on the outside of my 197mm frame at the rear axle, which made it a little tricky to hold in place while I installed it. I ended up mounting it to the attachment points for the rear derailer hanger and disc brake. I see now that the product description says "Fits 170-190mm dropout spacing" -which explains why I needed to stretch it. I also needed to file down the rear derailer hanger slightly (about 0.5mm) where it was contacting the mounting bracket for the rack, in order to allow the rack to rotate forward into a level position. I was able to file down the rear derailer hanger without removing it from the frame, but it might have been easier to take it off to file it because it was delicate work trying to file it without accidentally filing the frame. You could also file a bit off the rack mounting hardware, but I didn't want to weaken the integrity of the rack. Once installed it seems solid and I like the way it looks. Not many options out there for fat bike racks. I think this is the best looking one and one of the least expensive. Good product. It also comes with an additional bar for set post attachment. I did not use this, but I included a pic of it next to my seat post so you can see what it looks like. I guess this piece is for quick release seat post attachment, which my bike does not have and I never intended to use this installation method.

but you can mod the bottom mounts very easily if need be
Fits Motobecane Boris X7 perfectly, but you can mod the bottom mounts very easily if need be.I tried this rack on the FRONT, and maybe some very slight mod will be needed on the long end of the bottom mount. Slight would be shorten it, and add a new hole for the screw. Speaking of which, it comes with all sorts of extra screws, very nice of them to offer a ready to fit package.And... it ended up on the back of the Boris X7, fits perfectly (with a little extra washer under the mount on the derailer side). I only added the washer so the provided screw wouldn't hit the closest gear on the cassette. Shorter screw would mean no washer... woooo big deal!!!Leveled out perfectly with the provided bars. I moved the holes for them closer to the side of the cross piece, so they'd cleaer my Mudshovel rear fender. Again... jeeze... a few minutes making two holes. Easy stuff. What ya got here is a very worthy rack, that should handle a bunch of abuse. I've got it on a fat bike, that I ride around town and on the beach. Rack is to store occasional package items, but I can see taking a camping kit there too.

mongoose malus will need to drill or make own adapter for dropout
Just finished installing mine. So if you have no connection points or QR rear hub you will need to drill out little holes on the bracket instead of spending money on universal bracket (which frankly should be either an option or come with the rack to begin with). Downside of drilling out the bracket is that you probably reduce its capacity by 2/3. Will ask my friend to make me a set with plenty of metal around to replace later. As for the mounting to the seat tube I used these 2 sliding hands to go inside the standard seat clamp. You will need to compress that clamp to get the bolt back in it, I used channel locks. Considering there are not many options this one is not the worst so 4 stars. By the way how many bikes are out there with fat tire and QR in the rear?
