Review: Makes Great Waffles!! - I usually write a review after few uses, but this waffle maker is so great I had to write a review after one use. Upon receiving the waffle maker, the first thing I wanted to do was to wash the grill before using for the first time. But as the grills do not detach, I wiped the grill with a wet paper towel and hoped that was good enough to get rid of any germs/chemicals. The waffle maker is super easy to use, functions just like in the manufacturer's video. I plugged in the cord and the red light turned on immediately. The grills take about two minutes to heat up so I recommend making your batter first and plug in the waffle maker while your batter is resting. I'm kinda lazy so I made my batter from a mix. The kind you just add water. But I did add a table spoon of oil to a cup of batter. Mix the batter to a thinner consistency than you would for a pancake, and let it rest for four minutes. Once the waffle maker feels hot, pour in your batter (1 cup), cover and flip. Set the timer to four minutes and wait. The waffle maker beeps once at the 60 sec remainder mark and it turns itself off too at this point. The waffle came out nicely colored and very crisp on the outside but still bit chewy on the inside. I love the size of the waffle. It's thick, like the kind you get at a diner. But I have to say I liked my waffle better than the ones I get at the local diner! Cleanup is a cinch too. Because I didn't let the batter overflow and the batter doesn't stick to the grills, I just wipe the grills with a wet paper cloth once the grills cooled down before putting it away. I'll update the review if anything goes wrong in future use. But I hope this waffle maker keeps functioning like it did its first time making a waffle!!!
Review: Lasted 18 years, got another right away - First one lasted 18 years until the ceramic started peeling. Once I saw the same model was still in production, I immediately got another without even bothering to look at other brands, which is rare for me as I usually like to try different things. It makes great waffles, cleans up easy, and lasts forever. I probably used it twice weekly over those 18 years. I'm also happy that it's ceramic and not teflon or such. One of my best investments ever. The only slight knock is I do prefer the previous model's timer since it had a seconds display and let you adjust by 15 second intervals, and also used AAA battery whereas the new one uses a watch battery. (FWIW I think I only had to replace the battery once or twice in the 18 years). I find it funny that people complain about the timer here though: since it's battery-powered and easy to set for under 10 minutes (single button, press the button once for each minute), I like it enough that I actually leave the waffle maker on the counter permanently and use it as my egg timer too. Just wish it still had the 15-second button and display too. Easily five stars

**Q: Is it easy to remove the grills for cleaning?**
A: ceramic grill plates do not remove, but still very easy to clean. clean it when it is HOT ! a simple wipe with wet cloth will do the trick. Being very easy to clean is one of it's best atributes !
 if you under-cook your waffle and try to remove it early, you will have issues as with any other waffle maker . Look for steam as an indicator of doneness,when the steam subsides (around 6-7 minutes) your waffle is done. flip the unit at least twice during cooking for great, even results.

A: No, no, no.......Ceramic cookware is new age cookware that was introduced to the market 10 years ago and is baked in a kiln. Most people hear the word ceramic and instantly think of clay pottery which breaks easily.However, ceramic cookware is often fired up in a kiln which makes the ceramic longer lasting, durable, stronger and less prone to damage. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally, a waffle iron that meets my expectations

This is hands down, the best electric waffle iron I have ever used in my 73 years. Over the years, I have owned several waffle irons. I recently purchased and returned a Black and Decker 3 in 1. It looked and felt cheaply made. The no-stick coating on the removable plates was scratched and overall it made lousy waffles. This appliance, on the other hand, looks, feels, and cooks like a quality product. The waffles come out crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. They are also a good-sized waffle, easily large enough for two people to share one while the next one cooks. It heats up fast. The light comes while heating and cycles off when the appliance is up to temperature; That does not mean your waffle is done however. It also has a timer that is independent of the cooking function. It is just a timer. The timer increments by 1 minute with each button press. When you start the next waffle, you must reset the timer. Not a big deal. I truly enjoy cooking waffles with this appliance. I am sensitive to wheat. Instead, I use King Arthur gluten-free 1 to 1 flour substitute. Here is the outline of my gluten-free waffle batter: Put all ingredients into a high power blender, I use a vita-mix.1. ~ 3/4 cup of raw oatmeal 2. a generous scoop of whey protein powder 3. a dash of salt -1/4 tsp? maybe 4. half teaspoon of baking soda 5. 1 teaspoon of baking powder 5. two eggs 6. 1 or 2 tsp of butter 7. almond milk (about 1 cup) THEN, Whirl everything up. Pour that mixture into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Next, add flour, a scoop at a time (my scoop is 1/4 cup), and stir with a fork until mixed. Keep adding flour until the batter is too thick to pour. Next, I put 3 (1/4 cup ) scoops into the center of the iron, flip it, and set the timer for 4 to 5 minutes. These waffles are reasonably healthy and taste really good. I liked the breakfast waffles so much, tried an experiment for lunch. I started with the basic recipe above and used a food processor to chop some sweet onions, carrots, and cauliflower into coarse particles and added this mixture pulse about 1/2 to 3/4 cup grated cheese to the batter. These savory waffles made a delicious lunch by themselves. However, then can be split in half (slide knife between the top and bottom layer) and used as sandwich bread. Enjoy Update: the non-stick truly works. Do not use cooking spray!!! Spray quickly builds up and becomes sticky. I tried two new variations today. 1. Hash brown yam. Use a food processor to grate the yam. Add two lightly beaten eggs, a tablespoon of flour, some salt & pepper, and a generous pat if melted butter. Mix together well with a fork. Spread about 1/2 cup of mixture onto to the iron and cook approximately 10 minutes. The hot waffle was a little too loose to lift out, so I opened the flip, put a plate between the 2 sides and flipped the waffle onto the plate. Perfect, no sticking and the waffle was delicious. 2. Next, I tried making brownies from a store mix. Instead of 2/3 cups of vegetable oil I used 1/3 stick of melted butter. Cook for about 5 - 6 minutes and flip onto a plate then transfer to a cooling rack. Fast, simple, and easy. They were perfect. Crunchy crust and soft center. The non-stick surface truly is non-stick. I repeat, don't gum your iron up with cooking spray. So far, a little oil or butter in the batter instead of spray is working great.
