Epoxy resins come in two parts: the resin and the hardener. When the two parts are mixed together, a chemical reaction occurs that causes heat production. This heat changes the epoxy from a liquid to a solid. How to use epoxy resin? STEP 1: Prepare a level surface and cover it with silicone pad or wax paper. Put on the gloves and mix the resin and the hardener in a 1:1 ratio (recommended by volume); STEP 2: Stir slowly and thoroughly for at least 3 whole minutes and scrape the sides and bottom of the container as you mix. You may not stop until the mixture turns clear without any swirls in it ; STEP 3: If bubbles appear, let it sit for a while, or submerge it into a bowl full of warm, not hot water, while stirring, or a heat gun is a great tool; STEP 4: Pour into a mold or onto your artwork. We don't recommend scraping the unmixed resin or hardener stuck to the sides. You'll end up with soft wet spots in your cured resin.
