Very strong spray in full sun
This solar fountain has a very strong spray in full sun. It does work in partial shade as the sun moves behind my trees in early evening with less water movement. It includes a good assortment of spray attachments. It has four straws that attach to the sides to help keep it centered in your bowl or bird bath. I don't use these but it's nice to have them. It's been working very well for the last 2 months with some temperatures 90F-100F. Starts working after I clean the bird bath immediately.I only use the big nozzle attachment without any spray attachments and it makes a nice bubbling sound. It draws in birds for drinks and insects(I have a rock for them to land on) and keeps the water flowing enough to not have mosquitoes. My bird bath is small so the bubbler keeps the water from spraying out and works as I'd hoped.

It works when getting full sun
This works really good in my fountain when it's getting full sun. It doesn't really work unless the sun is shining directly on it. It seems to sputter when it's in the shade or getting partial sun. Putting it in full sun during the summer makes the fountain quite hot. It seems to be more for decoration in my area than useful for birds, at least at this time year.

Works Great if you MAINTAIN it DAILY
This is a nice little product. An easy, inexpensive way to add some moving water and beauty to my garden and bird bath. People in the reviews say it only lasts a month, but that’s because they weren’t cleaning it. I clean mine every single day that it gets used. You have to clean out the leaves and dirt from the pump grate, otherwise it’ll build up inside the pump and eventually break it. Also need to change the water daily.Cons: it must have DIRECT sunlight to function completely. It still runs in indirect sunlight, but not nearly as well (intermittent). Also, it was spraying all the water too high and emptying the bird bath. I fixed it myself by modifying one of the nozzles to make the hole bigger

Sun powered & the birds come in for drinks and bathing.
Glad I got this. Although all of the attachments sprayed the water outside of my (I guess too small) bird bath bowl, emptying it too quickly, I started using without the spray so that it just makes ripples in the water. Does attract the birds and has been working great powered by the sun. While a small spray would be preferred, all of the attachments sprayed too high and the wind blew it out so glad it is working this way.

Not a bad little fountain
This works really well. I've had this for a few months now & it's still running great. It recently got a white film on the solar panel, that I can't get to to clean off. I was worried it wouldn't work anymore as a result but it's still going great. Love the different attachments to change how the water sprays out. My only complaint is that it shoots the water so high that anytime the wind blows, it's blowing the water right out of the fountain lol I was constantly having to refill it. Fixed that by just not using any of the attachments. Not as pretty but still looks nicer than still water.

Best for yards with lots of sun & mostly lawn
The product description is generally accurate. The fountain really only works in full sun, the pump does not have auto-off & the plastic “straws” help keep it centered.HOWEVER, the pump’s only “filter” is the plastic casing around it. This makes it vulnerable to clogging. Add to that the tiny holes in the valves that are even more easily clogged & this fountain can become frustrating. My yard has a lot of plants, flowers & trees surrounding it so there is a lot of stuff (tiny seeds, pollen clumps, small leaf bits, etc) so I have had to clean the pump pretty every day & sometimes even 3x a day. Using the valves with the biggest openings helps minimize this, but doesn’t eliminate the problem completely. If you want something that will run in partly shaded areas or yards with more than grass is probably not for you (I got one with a solar panel & small battery & it does much better in part shade. Unfortunately it also has the issue of small particles clogging it just not as often as this one). But, for the price, this fountain is decent & so long as it gets lots of sun it does well.I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but we are in the middle of a very hot heatwave & it looked like the pump was struggling. I added ice to the birdbath (to cool the water down for the birds) & it seemed to work better after that. Could be super hot conditions affect the pump, but I can’t be certain. The one bonus feature (that isn’t part of the design) is I have found small birds sometimes land on it & seem to enjoy hanging out.Lastly - when cleaning the valves with the tiny holes - make sure you have a straight pin of some kind available. It’s the easiest way to get fine particles out.
