Helps if you have an second person and you need some strength to assemble, especially when you tighten everything. We had it up in about an hour.It does have some cracks but the manufacturer has a note in the box describing that they are part of it and not damage. Regarding the cracks, I've looked them over closely and the way you connect the parts to one another, it wouldn't even matter if the cracks were a structural risk — the way you connect one part is perpendicular to the adjoining piece so that both secure one another, crack or no crack.It's really sturdy and doesn't need anchoring. It doesn't jump when we swing, but we did manage to make it jump/lift a foot once with an exuberant grown man. Our 50lb kid hasn't managed to budge it though. I think 2-3 kids wouldn't faze it.We've put a saucer swing on it and it swings smoothly and is a kid magnet. We hung the swing on the frame's included hooks. (Got the saucer swing on Amazon too, in case you're wondering. It's a really highly rated one and fit this frame perfectly.)I've included a picture of the hook because the product pictures didn't make it clear to me what to expect there. (The clip is part of the saucer swing, not the frame, but you can see how it connects perfectly.)The cedar smells very nice, but if you have small children who might grab on to the wood, you should know it isn't smooth sanded. It's fairly rough (like decking) and kids could definitely get splinters. It would be beautiful if one were inspired to sand and stain it.

I had no trouble putting this baby together. I would recommend giving it a coat of wood sealer before assembling it, so all the joints are well-protected. It seems very sturdy. it's made to hang a 5 foot swing, but mine is 4 feet, so I drilled extra holes to accomodate the size difference, so the chains hung straight down. It's made of cedar wood, so I expect it to last a long time. I recommend it. Also, it looks good.

Works perfectly hanging two hammock chairs. Sturdy, easy to assemble, and looks great. Nice craftsmanship, will be purchasing another.

I love this swing stand. My son put it together for me in less than an hour. It is sturdy and a beautiful cedar. I want to polyurethane on it so I can keep the beautiful natural color. The stand arrived quickly and I would buy another one tomorrow if I needed another stand. I love it!

Couldn't be happier with this swing frame. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for a sturdy frame. This frame is very sturdy, easy to put together (we watched the assembly video) and well worth the price. We stained our frame to match our deck and swing. We used a semi- transparent stain. Love it! Extremely fast delivery also. Very impressed.

Very sturdy. It wasn't quite as tall as I would have liked but it looks really nice and gets the job done.
