Nespresso Citiz w/Milk, A Personal Take
After pining over a Nespresso machine for well over two years, we (my wife and I) finally found a deal we couldn't pass on. A Nespresso Citiz w/Milk, in fire engine red.A little history follows. I've been grinding and pulling my own shots of espresso now for 20 years plus. Yes, you can get excellent results doing such. But there are a lot of issues involved. First, you have to find a coffee product that meets your tastes. And when you do, you generally stick with that product. Next, you have to grind the beans, usually only what you need for that day, or shot. Any extra amount begins to lose its quality, so I would always grind what I thought I needed, at that particular moment. After grinding, you fill your porto filter (or whatever you call it), tamp it down, place in machine, press a button, and viola, you see nothing, or hardly anything dribbles out into your espresso cup. You remembered to use the exact same grinder setting you used last time you ground your beans, but this time, it was too much.Back to grinding some more beans, resetting the grinder, and throwing out the rest of what you previously ground (big waste). You repeat the procedure, and this time the shot whooshes into your cups, nearly splattering you with brown colored liquid. Maybe it was too little tamping, so you try and make another, and sometime later, you get it just right. Perfect grind, with the perfect amount of tamp. You finally get perfect espresso, and you are happy! What happened between this time and the last time you made successful espresso? The new bag of beans you bought were either richer in oils, or the humidity in the house had changed, or your Mother-in-Law had something to do with it.You endure more years than you care to remember doing this quaint little ritual, but never get over the pain-in-the-butt inevitabilities of having to clean up these little messes time and time again, month after month, year after year. Oh, what fun! Then, while visiting friends in Europe, my wife and I were served a cup of espresso from this cute little machine, sitting on our friend's kitchen counter top. At first, I thought, "Oh how cute, this will be good (NOT!)" And then I was floored by the fact that the little shot of espresso was absolutely delicious! Thick crema, nice body, good mouth feel, and oh, so tasty. We were sold! So, flash forward a couple of years, and we now have a cute little Nespresso machine of our own, sitting on a kitchen counter top, beckoning its use. No more hassles, no more grinding and wasting. No more moments when the old machine grrrrrrrrd, and buzzed, and labored through a too tamped, or too oily grind. Now, it's just a near perfect shot of espresso, every time!Oh, and that's not all! The milk part is really cool, and a snap to use. The included Aeroccino milk machine, for either frothed/foamed milk, or steamed milk for latte's, or your own hot cocoa, is a marvel of technology. Easy to use, easy to clean up, afterwards.I can only recommend the Nespresso Citiz to those that want to forego all the little intricacies of doing it the way we did for too many years. Oh, yes, you can purchase a fully automatic, $600 to $1500, wonder machine, and when that clogs, as it eventually will, have fun carting that 25 lb. anchor to your local fixit facility. We haven't done that, but friends of ours have.As for the capsules, and Nestle's lock on their distribution of them, well, I have no problem with that, myself. At the current price of, $0.57, per capsule, and the very fast mailing service after ordering some, I'm very satisfied! I would gladly trade that, and did so, for the hassles recorded in my preceding diatribe.

I LOVE MY NESPRESSO MACHINE!!!
I was looking for a quality espresso machine that was easy to use and still made great coffee and the Nespresso CitiZ delivers!I read a bunch of the reviews before buying and based off the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I bought the machine. My first latte proved I'd made an excellent choice! The machine is super simple to use - a quick glance at the instructions just lets you know you've got it right. A push of a button and VOILA! espresso and steamed milk are ready in about a minute.I love the capsules. Yes, they are a little expensive and you have to (or at least I choose to) order them directly from the Nespresso website, but it's cheaper than going to a coffee shop and the shipping is $6 regardless of how many you order (so I order 20 boxes - which equals 200 capsules - at a time). Shipping is super fast (usually 2 days) and the varieties are great!I love that there is essentially no clean-up, something that was high on my list when looking for a machine. I've dealt with espresso grounds and tamping down the grounds and frothing the milk and while you get a decent latte, it's a ton of work and a huge mess. At 5am I don't want to deal with that! I want something quick, easy, that can still deliver a great cup of coffee.Extremely pleased with this product, and at $350, it's well worth the investment. You can pay double, triple, etc. for a good espresso machine and while I'm sure they're great, this one is FANTASTIC at it's price. I don't have any desire for a fancier espresso machine, this one is everything I wanted!

Loved it -- the 1 and only time it worked.
The CitiZ is a very convenient machine capable of making very good espresso. After being initiated to it by a friend who received one as a gift from her son and daughter-in-law, it seemed I had finally found the perfect machine. Something that was easy to use, easy to clean and maintain, and made a very good cup of espresso. I immediately ordered one, which arrived on a Monday afternoon. On Tuesday morning I followed all the instructions for the initial cleaning/setup and subsequently enjoyed my first, and only, espresso this machine made. (I have to say, though, the one time it worked, it was great.) When I arrived home from work Tuesday evening and decided to make another espresso, the machine was DOA. Nothing revived it; it simply would not power up or turn on. A call to Nespresso to explain my problem did not end as I had hoped. There was no magic trick to get it up and running again. The machine obviously had an electrical problem and would need to be returned. (NOTE: contrary to the instructions enclosed with the machine to NOT return it to the retainer, I was told to return it to Amazon). So, back went the CitiZ and my quest for the perfect machine has resumed.

Weak espresso and not warm milk
So we use this at my work. Yes it's easy to use but the espresso comes out so weak. I mean really weak. I have to do a few shots. Next the milk frothing won't go past a certain temp. So i end up microwaving it after to get it hotter. There's better ones out there people. Don't get this.

Convenient and tasty...but lukewarm
Love the hassle-free coffee pods, great taste. My only problem - the milk is not hot enough. I don't like drinking lukewarm coffee...

A great cup of joe
The Nespresso Citiz makes fabulous latte's and espresso. With Nespresso, I use real milk and have control over the type of milk used in my latte. I previously used cream in my coffee but with a latte I can use 1% milk. The machine itself is easy to use. It fits well on my counter and looks great! Since I purchased the Nespresso machine 6 weeks ago, I have purchased very few coffees elsewhere. I find if I heat the cups and aerocinno with hot water, the temperature of the coffee is great. If using a cold cup, the temperature is not as good. Nespresso makes having a cup of coffee a special treat. When company comes over, everyone is excited to try the different grand cruz capsules. There are many different varieties - it's fun to try different ones and compare! There is only one place where I live where I can purchase capsules however it is easy to order them online as well. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase!

So Tasty!
The espresso from this machine is delicious, and if you have a nespresso shop near enough to access being able to wander in is a delightful experience. I have owned mine for over a year and have had no problems whatsoever.

amazing!
Nespresso is the Apple Inc. of coffee machines. Super modern, easy to use, makes the best stuff and really cute! Nepresso machines make the best coffee next to a french press. I love mine so much!
