POR-15 40101 Cleaner Degreaser - 1 Gallon : desertcart.in: Health & Personal Care Review: I used this to degrease new steel which comes from the manufacturer with a coating of oil. I used to use acetone to clean steel and it would take many many shop towels and a ton of acetone to fully get the oil and grease off. The por15 degreaser is far far more effective than solvents. It wont fully do the job if you just spray it on there so a little bit of elbow grease is needed with a rag but it leaves the surface so clean that the bare metal will rust immediately, after cleaning with solvents there tends to be a film leftover so the por 15 is my new go to. Review: Expensive

Be VERY careful with this product. I bought it because I thought it would be safer than petroleum based products to clean out an old outboard motor fuel tank. I mixed it at about a 1 part product to 3 parts water ratio. First issue - I got a few drops on the paint and it removed the paint. Completely. Yes this is old enamel paint but I had not read anywhere that it removed paint. Second - i put the fuel cap on the tank to shake the tank a bit to coat the whole inside. I had left about 30% airspace in the tank. I set the tank down and walked away for a few minutes. When I returned to the tank it had expanded up and deformed to the point where the mounting points moved. I grabbed the tank to get it out of the garage to empty it and as I was walking out the rubber fitting that I had used to plug the tank outlet blew off and I was sprayed in the face and eyes by the product. I was lucky enough to be within about 5 seconds of the garden hose. Rinsed eyes and face thoroughly and spent the next few hours reading the horrifying data sheet about eye damage. I am fine now. Bottom line - it destroyed the paint on my tank. It built pressure inside the tank to the point of expanding the tank and moving the mounting pads. Do not cap off anything you put it in. READ ALL the safety info available about this product before using it. It did clean the tank but I would not purchase this again.
