LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product!! The retaining bolt tends to loosen after use, but that's easily remedied.
LOVE this thing! I've tried several others (including making my own from various sizes of pipe), but this just works, and dang well too. I do a lot of reclaimed wood projects, and I'm disabled; so ease of use and simple functionality are key for me. It's compact, sturdy, and the size (both the horizontal space between the two feet - straddles most pallet cross-members no problem) and the length of the feet work exceptionally well. This is non-trivial, and the major problem I kept running into: either the feet were too short/small (which cracks the wood 'cuz it's not supported), or too long (which means it can be hard to get into the spaces between the pallet boards if they are tightly placed. The only issue I had is that the retaining bolt (to hold the handle that you supply) will work itself loose after a few uses. There are probably several remedies, but being a simple guy, I just drilled a hold straight through the handle and the other side of this unit and threaded a longer bolt through.Pros: excellent quality, functions perfectly, perfectly sizedCons: retaining bolt design needs work, but it's such a minor issue that I'm staying w/5 stars

Well built tool with thought toward the physics of destruction
An excellent tool for the job I was working on. Needed to pull up subfloor in mobile home that was nailed and glued down and made from particle board. The tool arrived and, as noted elsewhere, needed a pipe for the handle. Simply stopped by my local hardware shop and picked up a metal pipe, placed it into the tool and tightened the bolt with an adjustable wrench. The securing bolt was a bit different than the one shown in the product photo, in that, it used a friction based holding mechanism instead of a through bolt. Works well as is.I've already put mine to work and it has made the lifting of the subfloor easier for a variety of reasons. Using a six foot pipe for the handle has increased my leverage. The tool, having a rounded back edge for the fulcrum point, makes the leverage more smooth and there is no pointed edge over which you have to force the tool. The large heavy gauge flat "feet" allow for the even distribution of lifting power fully into the boards I'm working to remove, thus making for a larger piece for removal. This tool is well constructed and thoroughly thought out. It will become and ongoing asset in my tool bin. Well worth the investment.

What an awesome timesaver!
Picked up a 4' black pipe at Lowe's. It fit perfectly into the unit's collar. Simply tightened the supplied bolt with a ratchet and I was good to go. No drilling required. I haven't really "put it to the test" yet, but I tried it out on a pallet when I first got it. It appears to work fabulously. Appears to be welded very well too. High quality and thick steel. I'm anxious to start my next project. What a time-saver this will be. For me, the worst part of any of my pallet projects has been breaking down the pallet(s). This product will all but eliminate that pain! I only wish I would have been the one to come up with the idea. :)

No Handle
Works GreatIt doesn't come with a handle. I went to Home depot and got a steel pipe 4 feet long. For the price it should come with a handle

Buy a handle it doesn't come with one.
It's pretty heavy.. heavier than I expected. Also it is "handle-less" I wish I would have read the description before I purchased it, if only so I ordered something I could use as a handle at the same time. . . .SO KEEP IN MIND THIS DOES NOT HAVE A HANDLE, you need to buy one. Now, looking at the welds, there is a bit of spatter.. welds look lumped up, not sure how good the penetration is. . . the weld on the nut, that the handle inserts into, is hit and miss. One side of it, is really good, the other side is sloppy.Anyways, being as what welds are, I expect it to hold together none the less. But time will tell, I like the basic design, so it will come in handy and be used.Another thing that bugs me.. is the actual handle insert.. In the insert, which is pipe or rolled steel tubing there is a weld line, or a seam, that sticks out quiet a bit. I'm either going to have to carve a slot out, in my handle to allow for this or somehow grind it down so I have a nice snug fit to my handle. I don't want the match up between my handle and the head to have wiggle room, because I feel that will hurt and not help me when it comes time to pry boards from a pallet.Wish I had checked the reviews before I hit the buy button. Because then I'd ordered a handle as well.
