Half the residence - Twice the Problems...
Uncle Chris, the owner of Flamingo Realty, revealed a secret about Stella's mother. As a result, Stella has been very depressed recently, trying to deal with the news. When she finally goes into the office, Kari says she is under the weather and asks Stella to do a house showing for her.The client, Charlie Booker, wants to sell his half of a duplex and Stella O'Neil has an offer all lined up. Charlie and Stella agreed to meet at the duplex at 3:00 PM, but when Stella shows up with the paperwork, nobody answers her knock. When Stella returns later that day, she learns that Charlie Booker has been murdered. She sees Maribel, Charlie's sister, holding her personal notebook and realizes that she must have left it in the duplex earlier during the showing. Shortly thereafter, Stella starts getting threatening messages.Who killed Charlie? Why was he killed? Who is threatening Stella? With her family issues causing such a burden, can Stella stay focused on current tasks? This story gives a lot more background details on Stella and her family, while keeping a link to the mystery. This is a familiar scenario for anybody who has ever had personal issues overshadowing outside issues. I am looking forward to reading more of how Stella handles the personal issues while still making a living in real estate.

More mystery and mayhem
Stella and the others are back again after the huge bombshell that ended the previous book. The story was great and felt like the pages flew by. I love the unexpected support she is getting from the men in her life, as in Richie, Carlson and the gym owner. Her dad, uncle and grandfather are great as well and there are a few nice surprises from them. The other mystery in the book was really good but Stella's own family mystery is better, the next book needs to come out asap! It's kind of a cliffhanger. Well done with this book!

Love this series!!
Mystery, humor, romance (just a little), quirky friends and family and a main character I'd want to have as a best friend! Stella is trying to find out the truth behind a failed sale of a duplex - failed due to murder! One of my favorite cozy mysteries, is one that has a "mystery within a mystery". Gets me every time and CeeCee James balances both stories perfectly. The mystery of the duplex sale was fast-paced and kept me reading long into the night. The supporting family mystery also kept me reading and wondering! I love Stella - she's kind, funny, resilient and determined to bring long buried secrets to the light of day.I can't wait to read the next book!

A character-driven mystery
I'm partial to character-driven mysteries and, in "Duplex Double Trouble" by CeeCee James, I was immediately drawn into the main character's story. As Stella tries to figure out who murdered one of her clients and who is threatening her, she also struggles with several personal issues, which made her a complex and "real" person - and which made me care about what happened to her.

Finding out more secrets.
Stella has been in hiding since her Uncle Chris shared some family secrets about her mother who left when Stella was just 5 years old. Stella is trying to deal with all her anger at the men in her family that kept the truth from her. Officer Ethan Carlson comes to check up on her. Richie her neighbor is around to lend a helping hand. Just when Stella thought her life might be settling down, it seems to all be blowing up in her face again.

Stella's Encounter s
The suspense that Stella encounters during her work selling homes keeps her in trouble. She is trying to find out about her mom and bring her dad, his brother and her grandfather back together doesn't seem to be working. Now her client is murdered and she tries to figure out who. She is warned to stop but makes her dig further. Sometimes this gets her in more trouble with everyone, some are kinda stupid but enjoyable to read. Recommend!

Enjoyable Series
I am enjoying this series. I don't know if I'm going to like where the story line goes with Stella's mother. Will have to wait and see. I enjoy the characters in these books. You learn a little more with each book. It seems to me that there is something going on with Stella's landlord. . . . I hope the author continues with this series. I feel I'm getting a good bang for my buck with these books.

Surprisingly Disappointing Story
The best: Stella McNeil. The worst: Too much repetitive discussion about her family issues. I skipped several pages because what was on them had already been discussed at length.

I was learning more and more that family wasn’t necessarily blood
With more twist and turns than a road map, Stella's fourth adventure is filled with self-discovery, determination, a bit of danger, and happy resolutions. You won't believe the things she discovers along the way. You'll be on the edge of your seat from the first page right through to the last.As usual though, she solves the crime, all while finding it's time to let her heart lead her head. I'm looking forward to her next adventure!
