A good set of films.
A nice set, well packed and play well. Picture quality is good.I won't review the films here as this has been done many times over the years, but suffice it to say the initial trilogy, Raiders, Temple of Doom and Last Rusade are all good, but Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a weird addition that I, like many others think rather poorly if (it just doesn't fit as well with the main trilogy). The 4K conversion seems to have been done well and the sound is excellent.

Totally worth of purchase
I'm not the biggest fan of this series, but I do enjoy it very much. First three films looks amazing on 4K UHD disks. Kingdom isn't as good looking as original trilogy, but it's more modern. From this box set, "The Last Crusade" does stand out in terms of picture quality - it looks astonishing on 4K. Sound is really good via Dolby Atmos. This set box is a must for those who enjoy Indy series.

4k UHD Loveliness
So, a note up front. This is an actual review of the 4k UHD box set, having watched the films (rather than the silly pre-reviews). The box set itself is not the nicest of products, so it is definitely fair to say that lets the set down a bit. But, the main reason for buying this is to watch some of the best films ever made (bar #4!). So with that in mind...All 3 of the original films look the best they have ever looked, with some of the scenes looking incredible, with distant details really clear (e.g. the bridge scene in Temple). There is a fair amount of grain in some scenes, but for me that gives it a natural feel for a film of this age. Some of the scenes are also soft focus, but again, that is almost certainly a natural artefact of the original footage, rather than the transfer. Then there is the Atmos soundtrack. Again fully remastered for this release and wow, what a difference. The soundstage is all encompassing and whilst I currently don't have height speakers (hoping to add soon), it fills the room even without them. The effects whizz around the room and there is a real clarity in the soundtrack (hearing details I haven't heard before). All in all, the original trilogy look and sound amazing. Being a huge fan of the original trilogy, I can happily say I am super happy with this release. I haven't worked my way through the special features yet, although I have read some reviews that suggest there isn't anything new here, when it comes to that. But then for me, this was all about the films, which look and sound great.I should also own up to not having watched the fourth installment, not sure if I will or not, but unlike some of the early reviewers, I wasn't going to let it's inclusion stop me from enjoying some of the best films ever made in 4k glory...

Raiders supreme
Raiders looks remarkable and is clearly the best of the four, but all the films demonstrate the charm and charisma of Harrison Ford, and the importance of John Williams music. As usual for Spielberg, there's no commentaries (bafflingly he refuses to do any) and the set really deserved better extras.

Indy!
Raiders shows that 4k is better than film as you see the quality of the filming more than ever. It also said to me that for older films standard Blu Ray scaled is going to be just fine. The rest of the films come over great in 4k.The stories we all know, and he's the hero we all want to see. You call him Dr Jones!

Absolutely fantastic upgrade !
I've been a fan of ROTLA since i saw it about 6 times in the cinema in 1981 and have owned it on every home entertainment medium since the. Trust me , this 4K release is the absolute benchmark. Colour and sound are excellent , particularly the Atmos track which seems to balance everything out perfectly and has a lot more depth than the 5 : 1 mix on the Blu Ray - even details like birds squawking and insects chirruping , and the metal plates clinking on Sapito's backpack at the start of the movie are audible , never heard that before . I think the box is worth the price alone just for this one upgrade. Gonna watch it again tomorrow at a very loud volume.
