THE Stock Market Game to Own
I've played a few investing/finance games over the years, and I have to say this is by FAR the best. Now that I finally got a chance to play it I'm kicking myself that I never got around to it before. This game LOOKS intimidating, but trust me, it isn't. At it's heart this is a bidding game, not a math game. The only math you'll have to do is addition and subtraction to make stocks go up and down, and multiplication to sell stocks. What makes this game brilliant is that there's a bit of EVERYTHING in this game. There's strategy (Do I build up a stockpile or spread risk/reward around?). There's bluffing (Do I sell a stock that's going up to mislead others?). There's gambling (what about the stocks and movements I DON'T know about?), inference (I know which stock is going up or down big so that means...), patience, and loss-cutting.This game has a great theme and good artwork (especially the box cover), but the theme runs much deeper than you'd expect. The first time I sold off a stock and starting a sell spree as everyone dumped it before it went bankrupt, and the first time my stock split twice (and I shook hands with the other player who was a majority stake-holder) I knew that this game was VERY true to the theme of insider trading.I just watched a couple movies about Wall Street prior to playing this game, so I was excited to finally play it. If you like finance/stock market type games whatsoever, this a must-own. If games like this aren't normally your thing, I still recommend giving it a try.

Near Classic Game
The best stock market game out there at the moment. Why?A) It's simple to teachB) It's fast! Games (with non-AP players) can easily come in under 60 mins.C) It has clever game mechanicsD) Most importantly, its fun!The only flaws?A) is the artwork. It's "meh."B) It takes an expansion to make this game a BLUE CHIP (i.e.'5 star') purchase!

It's a Sure Thing! Invest Today in a copy!
This is a fantastic game. Really, stop reading this review and buy a copy now before the price gets way too high. Check out Tom Vasel's Dice Tower Top Ten Economic games and this is on ALL THREE of the reviewers top ten. It started as a kickstarter game, and I don't know if there will be a second printing, so better get a copy now at $40 before it goes too high. The game is up to five players, and is quite simple. You don't buy individual stocks, you buy stock piles which contain stocks. You have to out bid other players to obtain the stocks you want, but beware because some of the stockpiles have cards placed upside down which may contain fees or other hidden items. Players place one stock up for all to see on a pile, then place on down. I like to hide the stock I secretly want so that nobody buys it. Each player also has insider information so they know which stock is going up or taking a hit. Right before players reveal their insider information, they have a chance to sell their stocks. Its great faking out other players by selling a certain stock which cause them to think you must have info that this stock is about to go down. Then afterwards the stocks go up and those that sold throw their hands up in the air.My pal played this with me two times, and then bought his own copy - even though he usually just plays in my game group. He liked it that much he wanted his own copy. Before you start thinking "Yeah, but its a stock market game so the MATH must be ridiculous", let me reassure you that it is NOT heavy math at all. STOCKTICKER - a Canadian game - has lots of MATH, but this one is super easy to add up all the money you've earned.

Fun for all in our family.
We were able to try this game before ordering and what a fun game it was. The set up was fairly short and the time reading the directions so that you could play your first game was fairly short. It also did not take very long to play this game (30 minutes or so). After playing it once we tried it again and we were able to work out several strategies that would work in this game. The idea behind this game is you are buying or selling stock with an eye to getting the highest amount of money. You are given one insider tip each round, so you might know that the electric company is going to split, the auto maker is going to go down in value etc. And based on those tips and what you have in your hand you make decisions. We really enjoyed this game. My children range in ages from 12 to 18 plus my husband and myself. All of us were able to enjoy playing this game. I'd highly recommend it.

Family did not care for it...maybe wrong age group.
Purchased this as a Christmas gift and family members found it confusing and way beyond their interest. Haven't tried playing the game myself, so can't say.

I don't enjoy it.
Too much randomness going on. I don't enjoy it.

Fun to play
Gameplay is simple to pick up quickly. Players interactions are ok. Fun to play, reasonable game length.Card components are not the best quality, esp. the forecast card and company card which are expected to sustain a lot of wear and tear.
