Will putting super-glue in the ball joint keep it locked?

Don’t know about super glue. It is not waterproof and not that strong. I would pick E-6000.

Is there a pole you can recommend that I can attach this mount to?

The pole diameter would probably need to be a 3-4" for the curve to be right. I would cement a PVC pole of that diameter in the ground or a 5 gallon bucket. I hope this helps. You also may be able to mount it to your fence post. That's what I did.
