It's Not a Toy, It's a Little Beast
This is a wonderful tool. It is a little beast. Not a toy. I bought this chainsaw to use as I was rehabbing from reverse right shoulder replacement surgery. I am a wood fire potter, and I also heat my home with a woodstove. All together, I use about 12 full cords (not face cords or "ricks", Full Cord = 4×4×8 ft.). 100% mixed hardwood (maple, beech, ironwood, cherry). I needed to keep up with sourcing and stacking wood. The saw is well designed with a sturdy wrap-around handle that is easy to grip with either hand. It comes with 3 chains, and you need to keep them sharp. Changing chains, cleaning the bar and gear is easy, as is putting on a new chain and adjusting the tension. It comes with one tool (big enough to do the job and easy to see if you drop it) that firmly snaps into a holder on the bottom, out of the way. Filling the oil reservoir is easy. The saw is well balanced for use with either hand, and there are multiple places to grab and support with the other hand. At first I was using it left handed with minimal assistance from my right hand/arm. It did great. I can't say how long a battery charge lasted, but it was at least 45 min. of continual operation, cutting hard maple, cherry, ironwood and beech. I bought 3 batteries, and a charger. My cordless drill uses the same batteries and I already had one charger. Batteries for this tool are offered by many different manufacturers, and they are not all equal. I learned not to try to save $ on batteries. Invest in the quality ones. It is a drag to be out in the woods and run out of power. Always have extras. And for the wood kiln 80% Maple, Oak, Cherry, and 20% (by volume) pine and spruce. I source and prep my own wood. I have two larger electric chainsaws that I could not use for awhile after surgery because of the weight restrictions. This saw handled cutting hardwood branches and logs from 3" to 8" in diameter with ease. It would probably do fine with 10". I saved those for my 16" or 18" saw.Cutting ability:Very good.Value for money:Great.Power:I'd say it has about 2/3rds the power of a gas powered chainsaw. Much cleaner, less hassle, less noise. Gets the job done.

Outstanding little tool for short & small jobs
A miniature chainsaw in all respects -- M12 gives it (just) enough power for the scale of job it's suited to: quick jobs vs small trees & branches. Don't force it and it won't stall. The chain oil reservoir is small - you will likely need to top it off as you switch batteries (at least the higher amp-hour ones).Drains a battery like nothing else though, so have a couple on hand if you're planning to cut more than a few branches. I didn't notice a drop in power, it will just suddenly stop. Be realistic: if you're planning to cut for more than a few minutes, you want a gas chainsaw.A word to the wise: you might be tempted to use this as a trimmer. It is not that and multiple/thin/flexible branches can get caught in the mechanism, cause kickback, etc. You're better off using a trimmer, buy the Milwaukee one if you like. Obviously all the other chainsaw precautions apply. While the kickback will be less powerful, you might be tempted to bend the rules with something this small... to your regret.

cool little saw
cool saw..works well and very handy especially if you already have 12volt batteries. The trigger safety is a bit annoying but wouldn't want people cutting their hands off accidentally.

Perfect Tool for the Fool
If an expert on power tools is a 5, a knowledgeable person is a 4, followed by a novice, a relatively dumb person, and a danged fool, this review is being written by a 1. This particular tool is built for the fools in life, because its fixable. If you have any experience with power tools at all, you know that no matter who makes the tool, it's going to fall apart and break down, depending on what you demand of it, or how long you own it. This particular tool is so fixable even a fool can do it. The chain will fall off, and when it does, Milwaukee provides the tool. I'll bet I have this tool fixed in under two minutes. Other than that, if you're doing some longer jobs, bring oil with you. It burns through oil quick, and you don't want that blade cutting without oil. Also, I'm guessing only a fool wouldn't know that the battery indicator light doesn't work, unless its engaged. I didn't think the indicator light worked at first, but when I engaged the motor, it worked! Finally, one huge piece of advice I will pass along is don't "dirt it". Cut at an angle that keeps it out of the dirt. Keep that chain clean and oiled up. I have the battery life at about an hour of constant usage. Not great, but it will get all those small jobs done. One other note for those buying this for the fool they love, you have to buy everything separately. The battery, the battery charger, and the oil are all sold separately. The positives outweigh the negatives of this otherwise fantastic product. I watched videos on this product, so I knew all this going in. If you do too, you'll likely consider this a five-star product.

Dies anyone great job!
We love this small chain saw. It handles lots of small branches we trim on our property. It has become our go-to saw. Easier to handle than a regular larger chain saw. Battery lasts a decent amount of time but definitely purchase a 2nd battery so the work can continue!
