Is this good enough for pre algebra 7th grade ?

This is a great calculator, and I highly recommend it. I think that it would be appropriate...but you would want to check with the teacher to see if they have any requirements or prohibitions on calculators.

What is the difference between pocket version and standard/non-pocket version?

The non pocket version has a easier to navigate interface in comparison to the smaller pocket sized.
