I replaced its previous model #34560 with this, works great!
My 20+ year old previous version of this surge protector a #34560 was buzzing and clicking but not letting any power in my motor coach. This newer model has the exact same connections and footprint so installation was very straightforward. More importantly I now have AC, both power and air, in the coach! FWIW, install was in a 2000 Newmar Dutchstar.

Installs easily, so far functioning properly
I replaced an automatic transfer switch that burned out (literally) with this unit. It was a bit of a challenge due to the coach manufacturer utilizing a different type cable with bare copper grounds from both the genset and the AC box. This left me with four individual, bare copper and different sized conductors for neutral. Ultimately, I installed an outdoor electric box inside my utilities bay to make two connections utilizing wire clamps designed to mate different sized conductors i.e. neutral and ground runs. It all worked out perfectly unit is performing as it should. One thing that concerned me was how this device would work when my cord is plugged into the genset. In researching these, some say these devices do not operate with generator power. I installed a 50A receptacle on the end of my generator feed, my power cable plugs into that by default and to a shore power pedestal when availably. In testing the configuration, the unit provides a 120 second delay for the generator, which is perfect, it has time to warm and return to low idle before the delay kicks out. Additionally, I tested the air conditioning and it operates without fault through the protector. So far, I'm extremely happy. No more transfer switches for me, I'm darned lucky the last one didn't burn my motorhome to the ground.

Peace of mind when connecting to campground power pedestals! ...
Peace of mind when connecting to campground power pedestals! It saw service the very first time we went out after installation, the campground lost power in the evening, and did not come back until some hours afterwards. When it did, the coach had no problems with funky air conditioners or other 120VAC problems. Still getting used to the two minute delay before it connects external power to my coach, but again, the peace of mind is worth every penny.

Failed product
It failed after a short time but I was blaming it on something else because I thought that this was a good product! So I kept checking everything else until I finally got a tech to come check my transfer switch and he said that the switch was fine but my (new) surge protector was the problem. I know that it is too late for a refund but I felt that someone (Amazon, or the seller) needed to know this!

Works great and saved electrical disasters
Bought this one for a replacement of the exact one that we had used for 8 years. Numerous times this surge protector has protected our motorhome from electrical surges in some of the RV parks that have old electrical hookups. Also, some holiday surges when parks get full on holidays. We have this built in so we don't have to worry about it being stolen and it is protected from the weather.

Good, but!
I purchased this for my RV.. Install was good and had no issues, until... It started displaying that there was no surge protection and after a power cycle all was good for a quite a bit of time. If it was going thru a "self test", I would question its response time to a surge. The main part that absorbes the surge are MOVs (look it up) and are not replaceable in this unit making it a very expensive fuse. Another manufacturer sells replacement MOVs for their model and will actually send you a replacement if you experience a surge within the first 2yrs! Do your homework... Bark-bark!

Not happy.... Yet.
The surge guard was simple to install, if you have some basic electrical knowledge, but I still had my electrician friend install it for me just to make sure it was done right. Since it has been installed, it has been plugged in to the 50 amp RV outlet that I had installed at my house. 3 days ago I unplugged the RV to move it over, and left it unplugged for 3 days. Yesterday I am plugged it back in to find the SG had not came back on like it should. It shows that both lines have proper voltage (2green lights) and the red caution light continued to flash. The papers that came with the surge guard say to call customer service. I tried that, but of course, it is a recording instruction to go to website and fill out a form. I've done that and am currently waiting for the company to call me now. I'm extremely upset, as I had plans to depart this weekend on a trip. Now we're stuck here. As of right now, I can't recommend this product, but will update this review, if anything changes.

Great product
If you need a new surge guard for your RV, this is the one to buy had other ones in the past. I hate to say it, but they were all garbage. This product is amazing.

Worry free camping and no concerns about theft.
This was the third time we purchased one for a new RV. It saved our rigs from bad pedestals. One campground had a new power system added to an new expansion and it was reversed polarity thanks to the Surge Guard warning us. We told the campground owner and he was grateful for the information and promptly called NB Power to come fix the problem which they did.

This product did not do the job it was suppose to to protect our unit we had to get an electrician and RV tech to determine it was defective then was told it wasnโt the first one they had seen from Amazon in recent weeks we where 1 day off the return policy and Amazon would not negotiate any type of compensation we are getting the word out to all RV sites so people can be aware and save themselves thousand of dollars and we where told they can over heat and cause fires as well
