Really nice whetstone!
Update 5/17/22 - still very satisfied with this purchase. Thought I’d update since I’m back and bought another for my dad. Don’t store yours wet in the bamboo box and you should get great service out of this little stone. Overall I’m still very happy with these…good job, Goodjob!I am impressed with the cutting quality of the grit(s) on this stone, and I like the natural grip possible by its shape. Easy to hold and maneuver as you sharpen your iron. I was somewhat disappointed, in myself, for following the directions to wet the stone then store it in the bamboo box. I KNOW that wet 'things' should not be stored all sealed up or they will mildew. This DID happen to my stone and box. (And the box warped... :|) BUT. I knew better. Hopefully I won't 'catch' anything nasty from the moldy/mildewy stone and box. Overall, this is as nice a stone for the purpose I bought it for can be. I got this for quick, manual edge work of my hatchets and axes while in the field and it seems to be just right.

Good price, good product, cool storage
So far this seems to be a reasonably priced stone that can be used dry, wet or oiled with mineral oil. One negative I discovered about the one I was delivered is it comes with a wood storage container. It’s stored safely inside but it has magnets to keep it closed, for some reason they were heavily rusted.

A good all around whetstone.
I wore my rectangular whetstone down, and got this to replace it. It works great!

Works well for an axe
I like it. It works well for my axe and also for pruning shears. I’ve sharped am old chefs knife that the kitchen sharpener wouldn’t get through. Once I got a decent edge w this stone, the more refined on worked well…although getting a fine edge w only this stone is still very easy and sharp as hell. It’s just not as easy a dragging a knife through a preposition sharpener. You have to gauge the angle of whatever blade you’re sharpening. Obvious, but some people might not know how to sharpen on a wet stone. The size and shape is great for sharpening larger items like an axe or anything too big or unwieldy. Good deal and good product

Came stuck in the bamboo box
I was excited to open up this product and sharpen a few tools. That excitement quickly turned to frustration however after I got through the outer packaging. The bamboo box itself looks nice but it was much too tight. I could not get the stone out! It took me a good 10 minutes of pulling, shaking, twisting to actually get it out. Now I'm scared to put it back in because of how tight it is. Now I have a useless box and I guess I'll need to make something to keep the stone in.Also the marketing images make it look like the sides are well labeled. They are marked, but it is barely visible (see photo). Make sure you mark it yourself before the other markings fade if you're not sure which is which. The stone itself is great but the bamboo box it came in was way too tight.

Find a great sharpening stone best one so far.
First thing is I liked was this case the stone comes in, it helps hold the stone safe. The stone itself works great on all my axe blades, and also gives them that finish edge.

Good sharpening pebble, would've been 5 stars...
Pros: The sharpening pebble is nice and does what I ordered it for. I did order the larger sized one. I've been successful at bringing back to life various cutting tools for the outdoors and in the kitchen as well. It's manual labor, but it's soothing and relaxing at least for me it is, instead of sticking my cutting tools into a machine. The bamboo box is nice except for see below...Con: While it's nice to have a bamboo box to hold my pebble, unfortunately it molds very easily. Now hold on.... The first time I used my pebble I let it dry for a few hours thinking that was enough (before even thinking I was gonna have a mold issue) stuck it in the box and a couple days later it was molded. So, I cleaned the box and the next time I used my pebble I let it dry out for a few DAYS! Stuck it in the box and again a few days later and there was more mold than the first time. The picture I attached is after the second time. It looks wet because it has vinegar in it at this point. Anyways, I don't know if I'll be using the Bamboo box anymore. I may just give it to my daughter for her lil knick knacks or something.
