So good
~4/5Bishamonten is dealing with the aftermath of what happened with one of her shinki, as is Kazuma who had to help her. No one really knows what happened, though; they’re not allowed to. Bishamon and Yato are trying to figure out what to do, on their own, about the crafter/Yato’s dad. It’s complicated, but Bishamon has thought up a surprising possibility, and she goes after it in this volume. There’s also a divine counsel in this volume, where all of the gods get together for a party, to debate on important things, and for a matchmaking. Yato meets some interesting new gods. He also causes some trouble for Hiyori’s possible future, though Kofuku also helps him with it. That should be interesting. We also get to see more of Ebisu, whom I still quite love. This was another fantastic volume. The humor is still the best, and balanced perfectly with all the serious moments, and the main plot is definitely getting deep and dark. I can’t wait for the next one, though we’ll be caught up then.[More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.]

Another good volume!
Although I am a little annoyed with the 'accent' that the English translators gave to the Emishi (Come on, that's not how those people talk.Close, but not quite like that!) characters, this volume was put together nicely as always. I was initially upset with Kazuma's actions, but I know he believes everything he does to be right. I can't hold it against him for that. I know one day, he'll realize he's done wrong and he'll come around. Compared to the earliest volumes, mistakes were very minimal and the dialect was clear to understand. I'm also very happy that they included the little character trivia in the back. I wonder who the mystery benefactor is that lets Yato keep his phone. Father, maybe? Overall, wonderfully done! Thank you, Kodansha.

It's almost like if American Gods was set exclusively in Japan and was more "anime"
You know that mystery character from American Gods that nobody can remember? Well what if you based a story around him and set it in Japan. How does a god that requires belief to survive, do so when nobody can retain their memories of him?I marathon bought and read all the books in this series to date after watching the anime. This is not something that I normally do so this series occupies a special place in that regard. It does that thing that I like of mixing the mundane nature of the normal world with the other-worldliness of the other. Readers of Neil Gaiman's work or fans of the Bakamonogatari series will know that vibe. I say give it a shot. Despite already knowing most of the story from the anime I do not regret buying and reading the story in the "original" format.

Would love the two-page view-!
Not quite 5-star because of one thing: this volume doesn't enable viewing two pages side-by-side in landscape orientation. And given how beautiful the art is and how diligent the other volumes have been about cleaning up the artwork so the pages join flawlessly, it's a shame that this volume and vol. 17 are the odd ones out for some reason. (Here's hoping a fixed version might be available in the future!)Other than that, still an excellent volume continuing the character's development!
