My father always used an electric razor and my son cultivates a beard. So, I am the only user of shaving cream in three generations of my family! Safety razors were quite popular when I started shaving in the late 1980s. The shaving creams of those days (from brands like Palmolive, Erasmic and Old Spice) were expected to produce a thick lather. Some users swore by "shaving rounds" which produced an exceptionally rich though odourless lather, but after considerable effort. With the growing popularity of cartridge type razors – with two, three or even five blades – users began to prefer light shaving creams. In fact, some of my friends gave up shaving cream altogether, in favour of shaving gels and foams which provide a light lather with little or no effort. However, many of these products are meant to be applied with one’s fingers – which might repel the sort of users who clean their teeth with a toothbrush and prefer to use cutlery at the dining table! This product fills a niche, as it is basically pre-mixed shaving foam packaged in a tube. Its fragrance is very mild, almost imperceptible. It works well with a moist shaving brush, but it dissolves rapidly if hot water is used. It provides a thin, but highly adhesive, layer which is perfect for hi-tech cartridge razors. This combination is very gentle on the skin – in fact, it makes aftershave lotion lose its sting. (However, if you want a really close shave, I would recommend an old-fashioned safety razor with thick shaving cream, but only if you are willing to take the risk of nicking your skin). This product is far costlier than other brands of shaving cream, but I intend to go for a repeat purchase once I finish the tube I am using at present.

Decent, better than the aerosol cans

I bought this shaving cream after reading some positive reviews on Amazon. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I am very satisfied with the product. The shaving cream has a nice fragrance and a smooth texture. It lathers well and provides a comfortable shave. It also contains tea tree oil, aloe vera and menthol extracts, which soothe and refresh the skin. The shaving cream is made in India and is cruelty-free, which is a plus point for me. The only drawback is that the tube is not very user-friendly and sometimes dispenses more cream than needed also price is also not too high as compare to other shaving creams. Overall, I would recommend this shaving cream to anyone looking for a quality product at a reasonable price. It is one of the best shaving creams I have ever used.
