Eyes wide open!
This book was food for my soul! I have been on and off antidepressants and am truly grateful for this very well written book. It's jaw-dropping at the greed that exists in the pharmaceutical/FDA/government complex. The human being is last on the list!

AT LAST - AN INTELLIGENT RESPONSE TO SO MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT PSYCHOACTIVE DRUGS!!!
Dr Peter Breggin has written the most eye-opening book I've read in a while. This is the second of his books that I've read in a couple of sittings. I would recommend this book to anyone who is stuck on SSRIs, SNRIs, Benzodiazepines etc. If you are not on these brain-altering drugs yet, do yourself a favour and do not start. There are safer, natural therapies ... and They. Do. Work.

Great, except..
The contents of this book are amazing. The information at times needs almost wading through as it’s so in-depth and detailed. The last two chapters are the most inspiring I’ve ever read on the subject of depression and the book leaves you in no doubt that the drugs are not the answer. And I know, I’ve been on many of them!!However , there are a few complaints. Firstly, there are a ridiculous amount of typos in this edition. Mis - spellings, missed words, missed spaces, wrong letters etc etc. This of course is a publishing thing but it still makes for a subconscious questioning of the content when the print is so riddled with errors. The other issue 8 have is that the author does seem to assume that the depressed person had a childhood of abuse. This is not always the case by any means.Other than that, this book is inspiring, eye opening and life changing. If you are or have been depressed or on any medication , read it. It will give you what medication never will, knowledge, power, hope and ability.
