The lens magnifes only in the centre . Peripheral parts are blurred. NOT worth the money.

Nice Linen Tester, or Jewelers loupe—whichever you call it. Nice size and well focused. It folds up small and comes with a pouch to keep it clean. I had one like it for many years until it was lost. I was happy to get this one to replace it.

Well, I couldn't really believe it when I read another review stating that the focus was off by about half an inch, but the one I received does have that problem. I put a piece of paper on my desktop and used this magnifier to examine the text on the page. Sitting flat with its base contacting the paper, the view through the magnifier is blurry, but if I lift it about half an inch from the paper, it is in focus. So, it is usable, and provides a nice clear image when you position it as described, but this is unacceptably inconvenient for a magnifier that is intended to sit on its base, and as the other reviewer pointed out, it makes the measuring scale unusable. This flaw is particularly disappointing because the magnifier seems well made otherwise, and I'm quite pleased with the look of it.
