OK So its not a 4K recorder it records to my Hauppauge HVR-1950 using winTV 8 I have been waiting for 3 months to receive a Hauppauge PVR2 HDMI still back ordered so in the meantime dusted off my WinTV HVR-1950 External USB HDTV Tuner/Video Recorder https://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-WinTV-HVR-1950-External-Recorder/dp/B00KY34AOK I purchased this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072F7NVSD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 as well as this ViewHD 2 Port 1x2 Powered HDMI Mini Splitter for 1080P & 3D | Model: VHD-1X2MN3D (REMOVES THE HDCP) Amazon link is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004F9LVXC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also purchased a 5 port switch to be able to play back recordings to my 50" TV this Amazon item Fosmon HD1832 Intelligent 5x1 5-Port HDMI Switch/Switcher with IR Remote and 1.5 Meter USB Power Cable (Supports 3D) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008D6YZXG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to convert HDMI & make it recordable basically have cut the cord most of the way I dropped my direct TV back to $30month (its the basic plan you have to ask for it) from $200+ per month I access all my Amazon prime pay channels total cost on HBO, Showtime & pixl is $28 per month via a Roku Express HD Streaming Media Player 2019 ($30) I had originally bought a vizio 50" but found out I could not add or remove channels unless I bought the $1000 TV NOTTTTTT so external ROKU it is - works fine for $30 also have the $40 version in my shop on a separate TV bought the $99 4K Roku Ultra Streaming Media Player 4K/HD/HDR 2019 version only benefit to it was I could hook it to the LAN via a cable & not WiFi & I could hook an external drive USB or SSD (though it supports both LAN & WiFi) SO THAT'S IT IN A NUTSHELL ALL THIS electronic gear purchased on AMAZON works as it should

This didn’t work at all. Trying to connect a gaming console to a monitor but the monitor says there’s no hdmi signal. Google says it needs to have an electric input to make it work. The adapter has a round female input that might be for an electric input but there’s no cable that comes with it. The item description says there’s a micro usb cable, which wasn’t actually included, and wouldn’t be useful anyway since there’s no usb port on the adapter anyway.

I bought this to connect my Chromecast device to an older television that did not have an HDMI connection. I connected the Chromecat to the HDMI connection on the converter and connected the RCA plugs on the converter to the corresponding color jacks on the television. Following the directions that accompanied the Chromecast receiver I attempted to use the Chromecast reciever, but I saw nothing on the t.v. screen no matter what I did :/ A technician at my local Best Buy store said that he thought the problem is that HDMI uses a digital signal/connection and RCA jacks use an analog connection/signal format, so without a fairly complex and likely expensive converter the two formats wouldn't be compatible. Apparently these type of inexpensive converters are just a scam/rip off and would/could never work. You would be better off purchasing a more expensive/reputable unit - or just buying a newer T.V. (like I did).

Lets face it, standard definition sucks compared to HD so if you are using it to copy to DVD burner or VHS, the image is going to be poor at best, but it does its job. I think if I had a standard definition TV and watched my HD signal it would look very close to the results I'm getting. Remember this does not result in a high definition image, but it works!
