What are the differences between all of them?

According to Snark's website, the ST-2 has a mic and vibration sensor, the ST-8 appears to be vibration only, the ST-8Hz adds Hertz Tuning for 1/10th of 1 Hz Accuracy. The ST-2 replaces the SN-2, the ST-8 replaces the SN-8, etc. They do still show the originals on their website. However, Snark doesn't show the SN1X, SN5X, or SN6X on their website any longer. I assume they are discontinued.

Yes, I believe it would be the best choice. The ST-2 is an all instrument tuner. I hope this was helpful.

Does snark st-2 work with 1/2 cello？

Yes, it’s chromatic so it will work. We have found proper placement is key in order for it to register well. Like clipping it to the bridge for example.

Does this work for a double bass?

Yes, this will work just fine for a double/upright bass.

Great!

I got this for my partner, who I just got a bass for his birthday. The tuner it came with sucked, and wanting nothing but the best for them, I got this in hopes it would be as good as others said it was.Thank God it was! The battery came fully charged, and we haven't even had to charge it since their birthday two weeks ago. It's pretty easy to use, the screen is pretty readable with how bright it lights up, and it's overall a really nice quality! It's slightly bigger than I expected, but looking at other tuners it now seems like a perfect size. It functions perfectly, and it reads true! My partner has been using it almost daily, and they love it so far. 10/10 would recommend :)

Wider pitch calibration range and looks good!

Very nice! Fast to turn on and off, looks great with a red guitar, and has a wide pitch calibration range. I needed to tune my guitar to 426Hz and my previous tuner only went down to 430Hz. How else are you going to play Pantera and Megadeth except for online tuners and a microphone? The only downside is that sometimes it takes longer to adjust to a note (like seconds) and I think that's because it's chromatic.It functions well, is easy to use, and it's a perfect size to fit on your headstock. It has like a matte red finish that looks good, too. Overall, happy with my purchase!*Update (8/29/25): 1 month until recharge with daily practice/tuning. Very happy.

Works well with multiple instruments

Bought this just to have an extra tuner. We have used on ukulele’s, 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars and a mandolin so far and it has worked great. The display is bright and easy to read. Easily clips on the head of the instrument and has soft, grippy cushions to protect the instrument finish and keep it securely in place. Very reasonable price, we may buy another one soon.
