Review: Sometimes a good book is meant to be played… - I have the entire line of dark cities series of games that Facade has put out and they continue to ‘up the ante’ on each successive entry. High quality and the desire to make a unique play through experience always appear to be at the forefront of Facade games. I always look forward to their releases because of the obvious love and care they have for their subject matter of developed games as well as their clear love of gaming period. The format they have chosen harkens back to the lovely Avalon Hill ‘Bookcase’ games, only taken to a beautiful, ‘literal’ degree, and makes it all the more attractive and nostalgic. Add to that, the games are exactly what games are supposed to be, fun to play and replay, it makes for a winning combination. And Bristol 1350 is absolutely 5-star across the board. The design work is lovely, from the card art to the playmat, and the fabulous dice that are included are engraved, not simply stamped. Another high watermark of this company. They just flat out do great work. I just think it’s wonderful with this many games out already, that Facade is not content to make do. The gorgeous little carts you are trying to escape the city with, are meticulous in detail. And yes, many games have bells and whistles, but to top it off, Bristol is fun! Maybe you’ll make it out with your friend. Or not. Or no one will! And you will want to do it all over again! The best part of a game, by a mile. Let’s play again. And if this helps you consider Bristol 1350, or any of Facade’s other fine products, it’ll be time we’ll spent. After all, there’s nothing like a good book.
Review: Say yes to this game! - It's a little complicated to get going (just seems like a lot of moving pieces at first), but once you play the first round or two it gets super easy and just all out fun. It's worth it and it will be a new fan favorite at game nights. The game looks like a book which is super neat. I think my ONLY, very mild, complaint is the actual board. Because it's a rubber Matt that is rolled the edges are a bit curled, so we just started out on the table and then the first few moves were back on the board.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: need clarification on ghost rules when playing solo --just one real player. How do they apply exactly?**
A: There will be 3 ghosts if you are playing solo. On each Ghost’s turn they will reroll one die of the furthest ahead cart possible that is not their own. They should reroll an apple of that color if it is available or a rat if it is not.

Additionally, if the die the Ghost rerolled shows an apple after their reroll, the Ghost moves their pawn forward in some way. If they are in the middle or the back of a cart, they elbow to the front. If they are at the front of the 2nd or 3rd cart, they dash to the back of the cart in front of theirs. If they are at the front of the 1st cart they push off the pawn at the back of their cart (if applicable). Players may use Whips to prevent an elbow, dash, or push from a Ghost.

If a ghost's cart gets out of town before you, or if you ever receive the plague, then you lose the game.

There is a YouTube video called "Bristol 1350 Solo Mode Playthrough" that you could watch for more clarification.

**Q: Is this game a one time play?**
A: No, it can be played over and over with 1-9 players.

**Q: My dog ate the game board. How do I replace just that piece?**
A: If you need specific pieces replaced you can email help@facadegames.com

**Q: Can someone please expand on how to apply the meaning of dice rolling results as rulebook is not clear to me?**
A: On a player's turn they can either move their pawn, draw a Remedy card, or re-roll any 2 of the 6 dice. After everyone has taken a turn you should look at the final results of the 6 dice. The colors showing on each dice will affect movement (example, 3 brown means the brown cart will move 3 spaces). The symbols of the dice will affect mingles (if at least 2 rats are showing of any color than the players on that cart will need to mix and re-distribute their Symptom cards). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun for all, healthy or infected!
*by P***T on December 10, 2025*

Such a fun game. You never know who’s going to win right up to the end because there are so many was this game can change each turn. You might think you know who is infected but what you don’t know is who will end up in what cart as you leave the city. Fun to play with a big group.
