While it's the most protective packaging it's clear that it's far and away the best ziplock bags on the planet. Sure wish I could think of a good way to reuse them. (massive fit of environmental guilt here) I should warn you I haven't eaten sugar in 10 years. It is difficult for me to detect the bitterness from any of the alternative sweeteners. It's most distinctive if I use very little sweetener. However if you pile the stuff on, the sweetness will drown out the bitterness for any of these products.
