how far can the u-joint be bent? Can someone post a video on youtube demonstrating its use and limitations?

The U Joint itself will allow the HelmsMate to be offset 90 degrees from the motor's tiller handle when steering. You can sit in one spot and turn the motor hard right or hard left as needed. The HelmsMate clamp will fit tiller handle diameters up to 1 5/8".

why can it only be used at trolling speeds?

Several years ago a boater, using a competitor's tiller extension, was standing up and motoring at approx. 30 MPH. He hit a wave which threw him off balance, causing him to turn sharply and throw himself out of the boat. It is safer to stay seated and at trolling speeds with a tiller extension.

Will this work for a Honda 4stroke, 8 hp?

Yes it will do . You may have to remove the inner rubber sleeve first and push that on to your Honda tiller before slipping on the HelmsMate and tightening the clamps. But there is quite a lot of adjustment allowed.

Will this work on a mini Kota 55 thrust in Endura Max?

The helmsmate works great on my Minn Kota riptide 70. Had to remove the rubber sleeve from inside the collar for proper fit. Enjoy.
