My kettle BBQ has quite big spacing on the fire grate so is better for brickets. But if I'm just just cooking a small amount of prefer charcoal since it gets hot quicker. These work great as only the very smallest bits of charcoal fall through, they allow you to get a good layer of coals in a small area. Great to get a small area of direct heat. Also because of the depth I found they worked for a spatchcocked chicken, good amount of direct heat to brown and crisp the skin and held enough charcoal to finish it off with indirect heat.

They look fine for their purpose. Not used yet but upon taking out of the packaging realised the finish on the edges are so so sharp….. there’s no finishing off whatsoever…… I’ve ran a round edged file over the edges and that has improved them significantly…… beware….. more chance of cuts than burns with these bad boys!

After watching some tutorials on cooking a chicken on a rotisserie it suggested getting some bbq trays. These were the best value for money I could find and after using them I'm happy I went with them. They're robust, fit my bbq perfectly and hold a decent amount of coal as well as holding the heat for a good amount of time. Definitely recommend if you're looking to have more control over your bbq heat and positioning.

These work really well and have made indirect cooking a breeze. I can highly recommend it.I've not given it 5 stars though as the edges are sharp as a blade so mind your fingers....

Tried in came to get my new Weber barbecue to really put out some heat, have hot and cooler zones and cook different meats of different thickness- think I’ve found the answer. Can easily get my barbecue up to a constant 250deg and be able later, to roast a whole chicken at 200 deg c. Versatile, and really makes cooking on charcoal simple and functional.

I made the rookie mistake of buying the smaller 47mm Webber Compact BBQ and while the size is ideal for my needs I never fully appreciated that all the accessories are sized for the larger 57mm webber.These charcoal baskets however fit the Compact Webber just great and are nothing like the price of the Webber items. I've had them a while now and they are doing the job of giving you a bit of charcoal placement versatility just fine and are holding up great.
