I’m needing a stop leak for a manual Subaru Impreza, will this work?

The product you are asking about - Bar's Leaks Automatic Transmission Repair (part number 1400) was designed for use in automatic transmissions, so we would not recommend you use it in your Impreza. For a vehicle with a manual transmission, we recommend our Bar's Leaks Transmission Stop Leak Concentrate (part number 1420). This product was designed to work with all domestic and import vehicles, with either automatic or manual transmissions. For a manual transmission, you would use approximately 2 ounces of stop leak per 1 quart of transmission fluid capacity. Leaks usually stop in 200 miles or 3 days of driving, but if the leak continues, a second application or mechanical attention may be needed.

Yes, this product will help with those issues. This formula reduces rough shifting and friction, while eliminating slip, controlling temperature, and repairing shudder, chatter and whining. And how exactly does it do this? It reduces friction enough to prevent wear. It also helps control the temperature, while at the same time allowing some friction to prevent the internal clutch material from slipping. Hundreds of thousands of bottles sold nationally.

One bottle of Bar’s Leaks Transmission Repair, 16.9 oz. part number 1400, treats 8 to 12 quarts of transmission fluid. On smaller systems from 4 to 7.9 quarts, only use half bottle, pouring equal amounts from each side. For larger systems use one bottle for every 10 quarts of capacity.

This product can be used in most vehicles with an automatic transmission. It is not recommended for use in vehicles with a CVT, or Continuously Variable Transmission. When used, it will help reduce rough shifting and friction, while eliminating slip, controlling temperature, and repairing chatter, shudder, and whining. You can use it to top off when your transmission fluid is low, or add a bottle when you are changing the fluid. Depending on the transmission issue your vehicle is experiencing, you will normally see results within two (2) days or 100 miles of driving.
