How to Hide an Empire

Highly Recommended!
As an Indian, I wasn't much aware about USA or its history. But this book was really a wholesome read. And it didn't disappoint me, considering my ignorance of this topic. Westward expansion or the White settlement, The Guano Islands Act (Guano - natural fertiliser before the invention of Ammonia by Haber Fritz in 1914), Louisiana Treaty, Alaska Purchase Treaty, Annexation of Territories like Guam, Hawai, Philippines, Puerto Rico - following US-Spainish War (and then 14 year war including massacres) and how people in these overseas territories were somehow not given a fair treatment over time were the highlights of the book. He demonstrates how US is pointillist empire and not a contiguous nation consisting of the mainland. Its highly Recommended for anyone willing to dive into history. And paper quality was also very good. Must Read.

Gives the lie to American Exceptionalism
Outstanding. Establishes USA as an imperialist militaristic racist and sexist power almost from its inception. Useful information for thinking about LISa's rivals today.

Interesting and thought provoking
If you have an interest in history, but don't have a great understanding of how the US came about, this is a great book. Interesting and thought provoking. I spend more of the time reading it, on Wiki further researching the points.Good book

Shocking
An excellent and shocking account of the behaviour of the American Empire that we in the West tend not to be told about.

A fascinating look at the USA's colonies (past and present)
This takes you byond the "logo map" of the US mainland that we are familiar with to all those territories the US has colonised.
