This umbrella is a great alternative to a pergola but way more economical. It was relatively simple to assemble and, together with the umbrella base, it's stable and provides relief from the intense summer sun. We can now sit out on our patio without frying. So far I am impressed with the quality. Glad I bought it.

Outstanding product. It is easy to assemble, well-made and super easy to operate. We placed it next to our above ground pool, and it can extend out and over the water. It provides a great shade. It is very easy to rotate to follow the sun movement. GREAT PRODUCT for the price.

This is a beautiful, well-made umbrella. We got it to replace a 10 x 10 canopy whose frame was destroyed in a windy thunderstorm -- the fourth such canopy we had over the years. We finally decided we needed a different method to shade our patio and keep the western sun out of our eyes while eating dinner on the patio. We didn't want to go with a permanently covered patio (which would block much-needed sun in the winter). So we decided that this large, maneuverable umbrella would be a very good alternative solution. It looks like we made an excellent choice.I can't yet comment on the umbrella's durability since we just got it, but it looks well-constructed enough that it's built to last quite some time. Years, I hope. (Given the price, that will be nice!)The frame is sturdy, the mechanisms for raising it and tilting it seem equally hardy, and the waterproof fabric is thick and, well ... waterproof!But I have one serious beef. This took MUCH longer to put together than it should have because the instructions are really lacking. As you know, the water tank base (which you DO NEED) must be bought separately, and there' a separate instruction booklet (2 pages) that comes with that. However, nowhere in either the umbrella instructions or the water/sand tank instructions does it tell you anything about how you need to position the tanks. Or whether it's best to try to fill them after you've set up the umbrella or before.The proper positioning of the tanks allows the foot pedal that control the umbrella tilt to operate. But at first glance it's hard to tell how those tanks should be positioned. (I filled them first, and put them as near the umbrella base a possible, but they're very heavy, so moving them takes strength-- particularly if you're a woman, and an older woman, as I am. I did position them wrongly, initially, so had to backtrack and partly unscrew the umbrella base in order to get them back out of position and turn them 45 degrees, and re-lift them into their new position.Secondly, the umbrella cross base parts (which fit into the water tank slots) don't look anything like pictured, so I at first thought they were missing. Fortunately, they were not. Also, the instructions for matching holes in several parts of the vertical posts are ambiguous, as there are many more holes than just the two they imply. Had I known all this ahead of time I could have cut the installation time by at least half.It would also have been very helpful for some instructions regarding how to position the umbrella. That may seem like a no-brainer, but it's difficult to tell ahead of time who the actual very heavy umbrella with its mechanisms, etc., is going to be positioned on the base pole so that it faces like you want it to. Moving it after the fact is almost impossible for one person, and difficult even with two.This CAN be put together by one person -- except for the final lifting of the umbrella itself, sliding it's pole onto the pole on the base. The nine-foot umbrella with all its hardware is amazingly heavy (and top heavy, which creates instability when lifting it). You have to lift it a good four feet to get it onto the base pole, so to do that it takes either one very strong person (with upper body/arm strength), or two people (which they recommend).

Love it! Easy to install, seems very well built, easy to rotate and open. I like it more than our last umbrella. Big quality for a low price.

The umbrella is nice but I would suggest that the buyer be ware. The photo is deceiving. It makes you think that this umbrella comes with a weighted base, however it doesn’t. The brace included is not very sturdy. I am now having to buy a base for safety reasons. The merchant should disclose this up front.

I love this umbrella (9’x11.5’). Great coverage. Fairly easy to put together and very well made. Color is a true navy. Easy to put up the umbrella and take it down.I also got the umbrella cover (M). The umbrella is very tall so I was afraid I would need a ladder to put the cover on and take it off but there is a firm pole that you insert near the zipper which allows you to remove it and put it back on, reaching over your head with no problem.I got the base, SBL4090 that you fill with sand and water. I used 150 lbs of sand then filled the rest up with water. It would be nice if they had fill holes on both sides of the base, but we managed with the one. Note that the base comes with a firm plastic sheet. That is to make a funnel so you can easily pour the sand in without making a mess. I used that and the firm instruction sheet to make a big funnel.My husband and I were able to put the whole thing together easily. Definitely need two people.The only minor issue I had was that I only got 4 washers instead of 8. Annoying, but my husband found some similar ones in his collection which were good enough.All 3 items were sold separately.

This is a solid, well constructed umbrella that in spite of its large size, is easy to assemble, and once assembled, to manipulate. It is exactly what we were hoping for. I also want to shout out some amazing customer service by the manufacturer, who responded to my request for assistance and need for an additional help with a promptness and cooperativeness that went beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend the product and the people who make it.

This umbrella is so amazing!!! It matches my patio funiture so great!! it truly adds such ambiance to the deck!! highly reccommend great product and sturdy!! Made very well and the material is thick, not cheap at all! what a great price too!!
