The switching system is slightly confusing at first, but it works really well. Light quality covers all intensities from being able to tie a hook without blinding you, to landing a fish in the dead of night. The zoomable beam is unreal, and the UV dark light a really really nice touch - even better than red for keeping your night vision. Highly recommended.

Excellent product

It's a shame as I love New Directions innovation and idea but unfortunately it seems their quality control is pretty poor. I have many of their products and whilst their customer service do offer returns and replacements for faulty products it unfortunately seems the case that problems are far too often occurring. I was considering buying more different products but due to the concern in obvious lack of quality control I'm not looking to spend a large amount on hit and miss products. Usually products are get what you pay for and I certainly don't expect to be paying £60 for a head torch which has obvious signs of lack of quality control. I ordered and received a couple of new direction products, when the box arrived it looked almost as though the head torch had been opened and returned previously (speculation of course). When I opened the box and took the product out it looked as though the USB had somehow rusted. I then discovered the USB felt stuck to the headtorch and removed it with some force to realise the USB had actually somehow been melted on to the head torch. Emailed their customer service and was offered an adapter for the head torch to be mounted which unfortunately was useless to me as I have their bivvy light pro. Was advised that this is a problem they're aware of and they're unsure why this is happening but it would not affect the product's intended purpose. I don't intend to pay £60 for a head torch expecting top end and ending up with a product that has clear signs of lack of quality control.

Love nd products but this head torch is not as bright as I expected

New direction have some wonderful ideas and I invested in a lot of their kit. Bit alarms, scadel bivvy light all work brilliant but many many products are sub standard like the bait boat 1 which failed a lot and new directions customer service is awful and not to the standard of other companies like Nash and fox. I brought the head torch to pair with the bivvy light and bite alarms and was left disappointed. The head torch works are described, other than the battery life. Paying £60 for a head torch which needs to be in stand by mode to work with alarms and bivvy light but when the battery only lasts for an hour max before needing recharging, it turns the product in to a hinderance rather than something useful when night fishing. I can accept some products can be faulty but dealing with new directions customer service team isn’t at an acceptable level and they again are more of a hinderance than helpful. I would not recommend new direction products for that reason alone as you will be gambling with your money that the product you order is of a standard expected for the money paid.

Bought this to work with my alarms and also bought the watch, honest answer it wasn't for me, the overall performance was mid range at best as far as a head torches goes. Either buy a petzl or the ridgemonkey in all honesty. I love ND products but this one and the watch let the side down.

Nice little head torch, I thought I would get this as I had money left in my account 😅... to be honest I'm not one for bright head torches around lakes so this just stays at home, great for power cuts 😁

Product is defective and some of the light settings didn't work

Tolle Kopflampe, entspricht meinen Anforderungen. Gut verarbeitet, lediglich die Linse könnte den Lichtstrahl etwas gezielter streuen. Helligkeit und verschiedene Modi sind für meine Zwecke genügend. Die weiße könnte für manche Nutzer etwas zu schwach sein. Insgesamt nur zu empfehlen. Hier bekommt man für das Geld ein angemessenes Produkt und keinen Ramsch. Bitte weiter so.
