Are these for dry sweeping only or does it use water ?

These pads are for dry sweeping. There are different pads for wet sweeping.

I need pads for our model Braava m 240 and I find none available. Will the ones listed above work?

The Braava jet m6 uses a different type of pad than a Braava jet 240, they would not be cross compatible. We would recommend searching for Braava jet 240 pads. You can also call our customer care for assistance in locating the proper pads as well.
