How long does it remove stinky breath for, like all day long or for just like a couple hours?  Also is removing bad breath its main purpose ?

I use it to combat bacteria which was causing inflamation of my gums which in turn caused bad breath. I no longer have bad breath....

Would like to add to the warm water in my water pic. Is this recommend & how much should I add?

The short answer is no because you need to use it full strength to achieve maximum effectiveness.  Here's the routine my dentist has me using and it (in 4 days of use twice daily) took the pockets in my gums from 12's & 14's down to 7's.  After brushing for 2 full minutes (30 seconds on each side of teeth), rinsing and then flossing/hydroflossing I use my water pic in the morning and dental floss at night -- your teeth need to be clean and all the stuff in your mouth rinsed out:  (1) Closys - ½ oz or two full capfuls for and swish around in your mouth for 30 seconds.  Then spit it out.; (2) Antiseptic mouthwash like Listerine (with alcohol in it) - use 2/3 oz or 4 tsp. - there's usually a marker point on the inside of the cap and swish around in your mouth for 30 seconds.  Then spit it out; and, (3) Act fluoride rinse without alcohol - use 10 ml (there is usually a marker in the cap or use the squeeze and measure up to the line on the bottle with a pump).  Swish around in your mouth for a full minute.  Spit and then don't eat, drink or smoke anything for a full 30 minutes to ensure that the protective coat fully dries to protect your teeth.

Do you just add the little tube of flavoring to the whole bottle if you want it to be minty?

Well I've never added the mint flavoring in because mint flavoring burns my mouth. But personally, I would add a quarter of the little bottle at a time, and then taste to see what you think. Mint has always been used to mask or neutralize mouth odors, so the proof of this product is that it doesn't NEED the mint. Your breath will smell just fine without the mint, once you start to use Closys regularly. It's most critical to use it at night, right before bed, so your mouth is squeaky clean for all those hours when saliva production (and protection) is at its lowest point. It also helps if you scrape your tongue clean with a tongue scraper, right before using the closys.
